The absolute best option on the market for the money
This just works. Just order it. You can't go wrong for the price. It's obviously very affordable, retains the shells nicely and it's just the right size for 2.75in, 3in and 3.5in shells. You can even use it for mini-shells. You can keep two shells in each slot for a total of ten. The shells slide out nicely but they also retain firmly enough that you're not going to ever worry about it dropping a shell. This is a great option for an HD setup so you have 5 extra shells on hand. 2- 00 buck shells, 2- 1oz slugs and a 3in #4 Turkey shell are my picks for the HD setup.Maybe keep the slugs or whatever your preferred primary shell happens to be in the front two slots with the brass pointed down. You'll find it natural to smoothly grab them there and pop them into your tube mag or chamber. The rest of the shells orient the other way. That way I know by feel instantly the type of shell I'm grabbing. Slug or 00 buck. Also you can easily take the shell out from either direction regardless of brass orientation. The rim on the shell doesn't catch or make it too difficult to push/slide out of the retaining loop. All that matters is that you're comfortable and used to it. Get five of the quality aluminum dummy shells/snap caps so you can safely practice using the holder. Plus it's just nice having them to practice reloading, breaking in a new shotty, ensuring your shotgun is loading and dry cycling shells reliably. These fit factory 870 stocks perfectly. They fit just about everything nicely. It fits various turkish shotguns as well. All of my buddies/family have these for the most part. Great for a deer or duck hunting setup. If you have a sling stud you can just slide it right over it if you don't want to use it or very carefully make a very tiny slit with an exacto knife/razor blade so the stud can poke through. That's what I have done severe times

Handy Item
Well made, fits snug on gunstock and shells fit snug in holder. These are perfect for keeping a few additional shells handy for occasional use. Been using them for years.

Fits remington 870 mostly
It fits nicely on remington 870. Not perfect fit but it's snug and doesn't slide. It does cover the knob, so you need to cut a hope if you use strap. Quality is decent. It's good value for the low price

Cheap and effective
I got this mostly for looks as I plan to use a rifle for a show I am filming and I wanted to have spares on the stock for added effect. (Rifle will fire blanks for the show). I was a little hesitant to buy it as the rifle is actually chambered in .223 but as it is television I planned to slap a larger round in this holder because the audience won't be able to tell (Remington 700, they all look basically the same.) Well I got it and just out of curiosity I slapped some .223 in it and they fit perfectly. As this is a real functioning rifle that I actually shoot privately I was quite pleased to see that even this small round will stay in place. The .308 rounds also fit in it very well as do 6.5MM Carcano rounds. (I haven't decided which I want to use for the production, leaning towards the .308 since the rifle can actually be chambered for that.)As for the fit, it was a bit of a struggle to get it on but that was mostly because I didn't feel like removing the scope and sliding it down the barrel and over the action which I would imagine would be way easier than what I did. I slid it on over the back of the stock and it worked out well but it took a few minutes to get it in place. It fits snug and actually form fit to the shape of the stock so you don't lose anything. It is also really easy to retrieve rounds from. The .223 are a little small but they don't fall out and they are still easy to get a grip on.This thing may only cost a few bucks but it is probably the best you could ever ask for.

It is a great product.
I received this today, 4 days after I ordered it (Ordered it on Friday, April 9, got it Tuesday, April 12).As soon as I got it (Along with the Allen shotgun shell belt) I slapped it on my shotgun. (Not literally, I just put it on it).It was difficult to put it on my Winchester model 12 12 gauge, as the stock's length was too much for it, although if you put it on the barrel and slide it towards the stock, it works fine. Then I put it on my 20 gauge single shot (New england firearms), it is somewhat loose, though it holds fine.Holds five shotgun shells (12 is easy after you get them in once, 20 fit like a charm, 16 should be fine, though I don't have any to test with). It can hold a 410 shell after you put a 20 gauge shell into it, but for what reason would you have a 410 shell for a 20 gauge, other than custom over-under?The shells slide out easily, though they will not fall out at all.It is pretty high quality, Also provides decent cheek support, and makes loading a lot easier. All in all, this is a great product, I cannot think of a single problem with it.

Fits alright - Remington 870.
It fits the worlds most popular shotgun alright at best, but it is honestly more snug than it looks in the middle. With that said, when you look closely at it, it’s definitely not as clean as other higher end brands. So if that bothers you or if you’re looking for something you’ll legitimately use regularly while shooting, I recommend another option. I just need something to keep 5 extra shells close by for my home defense shotgun, which this does. Not sure if I got a bad/old sleeve, but it seems that once you stretch it to get it over the butt, it never fully compresses back to have a tight grip on the stock. At least on the ends.

Savage Axis II 308
I bought this for my Savage axis II 308 since the magazine only holds 4 rounds. It fits over the buttstock and requires a bit of elbow grease and convincing to get there but once it’s on, it’s on. It holds the rounds very snuggly, but elastic isn’t a forever fabric and it will need to be replaced at some point in the coming years but it’s a great value for the money.
