I really like this product! I've used it before to remove hair dye, and it's worked nicely every time. I use it on my roots as well to prepare for the next color, and it doesn't lift much, of course, so the 20 vol is perfect for my already lightened hair. Normally I leave it on for 30 minutes. I used the mascara this time and it made my hair feel smooth afterwards, I was not a fan of the smell but it was ok. I recommend this to remove dye, but keep in mind it will lighten your hair.

I have red hair and have been dying it green. The red does not like the green. It's hard to keep up with it. This made everything so easy. I can touch up the spots where the mint is fading into gold. I can do my roots. And I'm not sure if it's because of the color I've gone with (lots of iris green and a couple of dots of aquamarine artic fox = mint) but I can just do the roots and the few golden strands and then redye my head and it looks even and nice. It bleached the spots I put it on but I did not do it all over so I don't know how resistant the ends will be to losing the green. I added a photo of when I did the roots and right after I re-dyed it.I was surprised to get 3 sets of directions in the box and didn't know which to pick. I used the 20% volume that comes in the box and some conditioner I already had. I saw some people say they left it on for longer than the amount it recommended on the directions so I did go a little over on the time but not as long as some of the reviewers. I think it recommended 20 mins and reviewers said they did an hour but I think I did 30-45 mins. My hair was straw after but just like with a normal bleach job and needed lots of moisture the next week. I'll use it again and back off on the time and see how it does. I need to find a good balance between fried and white and less damaged but too much red. This product did a better job of it than the regular bleach jobs I've tried in the past so I am calling it a winner.

This product was not as described, if you're not trying to bleach the color out of your hair, don't get this. The activator paste is a blend of bleach powder and some somewhat healthy hair oils, and the developer is 20 vol. Peroxide. The oils create a barrier on the hair, which doesn't allow the product to get into the cuticle to do the job it is supposed to do. The directions are very unclear as well, because it says one part activator, but it came with a tiny flat spatula and no way to actually measure it out. They're is an option to mix with water instead of the developer, but bleach does not activate with water, so that is just a waste of time and product.

If you have anything long than shoulder length straight hair.. BUY 2 BOXES!!! I ran out halfway through and had to run out and buy more looking totally crazy!! Other notes-- this is definitely just bleach, but it dries my hair out a lot less than other bleaches I've tried. keep an eye out for blue tones!!! They really stick around in a pretty noticeable green if you dont really get in there with the bleach. Otherwise, this is a really quick way to get bleach out.

Didn't remove all the semi permanent hair color. It lightened it to an odd color in places. Doesn't stink, but doesn't seem to be less harsh than the other leading brand color oops.

This is the 2nd time I have used this product so I figured I would give it a review and give some advice. It isn’t bleach but you are still adding a 20 developer to a color removing product. If you put it on your roots they are going to lighten so be careful. It says in the directions to not use on overly damaged hair. I had bleached hair under my color and my hair didn’t fall out or get gummy like it would if I had used bleach. It removes color in a fraction of the time bleach would so it’s not in your hair for as long. It worked very well and very fast at getting manic panic pink and purple out of my hair. It left a slightly pink cast but lifted most of the dye out. Punky Colour is a fashion color hair dye brand so it lifts fashion colors really well. If I want to switch my hair color this is my go to method. I was able to dye my hair blue the same day I used the color remover. I can’t say it will work for every hair dye brand but it works well removing manic panic.
