Amazing Replica
This sword is one of the most beautiful, ornate blades I own. The Princess Bride was a personal favorite of my generation and I leapt at the chance to grab one of these limited swords. There are only 750 of these in production to my knowledge and each comes with a certificate of authenticity. The certifiate goes on to explain some of the history of the film and the sword (the sword is a spanish basket-hilted 16th century rapier whose design was apparently copied from a sword once belonged to the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian)and the sword looks nearly identical. The hilt is made of electroplated brass and has screen accurate faux gemstones adorning it. There's a few flaws in the hilt, divets and whatnot; but not enough to ruin the absolute overall beauty of the sword. The blade is reported as high carbon steel-which is what you want in a real, functional sword. (The exact carbon content was not specifically divulged, i.e. 1045, 1065,etc.) This is as much a real sword as it is a display piece. It does come with a rather nice wall mount, which once I get it up there it will be a suitable home for a legendary blade.

Not quite what was originally advertised
The faux sword is a reproduction of a movie prop which makes it hard to judge its overall quality. Some of the imperfections it has could be faithful to the original prop, but as I have no access to the original prop this is just pure speculation on my part. The "gems" are glued in a somewhat haphazard fashion and the leather wrap on the handle does not match what appears on the movie screen or what was advertised in the photos of this product. The hanger is not the same as what was pictured and is fairly disappointing. The wood ledge on the hanger is made out of very soft wood and it got scuffed pretty quickly just by me positioning the sword on the hanger. The sword is not symmetrical and the hanger is not designed with this in mind, so it can be pretty tricking getting it to display straight. I honestly prefer the appearance of the originally advertised wall hanger. The booklet/certificate is not even remotely close to what is pictured and it is actually just a pamphlet. My pamphlet also came incorrectly folded and had to be refolded.Overall, I am somewhat disappointed with what I received and caution people about buying products released by Factory Entertainment.

Sword
This was my husband's anniversary gift. He loved it, but doesn't play with it as a toy. He stated that he was pleased with the quality and intends to hang it with other swords in his collection.

Beautiful sword.
This sword is so stunning. I got it for my husband's 25th birthday because it's his all time favorite movie. Couldn't be any happier and hangs up great in our room.

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya.
My father was slaughtered by a six-fingered man.He was a great swordmaker, my father. When the six-fingered man appeared and requested a special sword, my father took the job. He slaved a year before it was done.Afterward, my father shipped the sword via 'Fulfillment by Amazon'. It was delivered the next day. Finally the six-fingered man rated the sword - only1 star! The six fingered man then demanded the sword be kept, but at only one tenth his promised price! My father refused, and demanded a return shipment for a full refund.Without a word, the six-fingered man slashed him through the heart. I loved my father. So naturally, I challenged his murderer - I opened an Amazon case. I failed. Amazon agreed with the buyer, and the six-fingered man left me alive, but he kept the 1 star rating.I was eleven years old. And when I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of fencing. I also began following his seller account. So the next time we meet, I will not fail. I will go up to the six-fingered man and say, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to receive a 1 star review."

Good quality for a replica
I've got a lot of swords in my collection, but this is the first "replica" I've gotten. The Princess Bride has always been one of my favorite movies, so while these aren't of the same quality as my other swords, I didn't expect them to be, since they're replicas of a movie prop.I got both swords, but unfortunately the source I purchased them from didn't include the hangers - so while I was able to easily recreate two for the Dread Pirate Roberts sword using a wire coat hanger carefully bent, I haven't found a good solution for this one yet due to the basket around the hilt - it precludes normal even hooks from holding it straight. Factory Entertainment cannot or will not sell the hooks separately.Sword feels decent in the hand, but there's a wrapper to give "detail" on the blade between the guard and the pommel, which doesn't line up right on the one side where the seams meet. So the one side of the blade looks alright, but the other doesn't look as good with that uneven seam. But since that's the side I'll hang facing the wall, it's not that big of a deal. The rest of it is done rather well, and does resemble the movie prop. As another reviewer stated, it's not quite smooth and flawless, there's marks where things were uneven during the pour (I assume the basket was poured into a mold) but from a normal display distance, you can't tell any of that. For any fan of the Princess Bride, its' a great memento.
