The Best I've Ever Had
This makes absolutely the best French Onion Soup I have ever had. Nuf' said. I use the box recipe with a couple of changes.Matt's French Onion SoupServes: 2Need two soup crock pots. Some will be left over and can be frozen in a vacuum bag for future usage.1 box Cugino's Baked Burgundy French Onion Soup Mix4 (1-ounce) slices of circular provolone cheese 2 should be slighly larger that the top of the crock pot's opening4 slices bread2 slices mozzarella cheese1. Make the onion soup per the box direction except double the boil time to thicken the broth.2. Meanwhile, place each bread slice on a cutting board.3. Press and rotate the upside down open end of the crock onto the bread and rotate it to cut it into a circle the size of the crock pot opening.4. Place one of the circular slices of bread into the bottom of each crock pot.5. Place a slice of the smaller provolone cheese over the bread in each crock pot.6. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese over the bread in each crock pot.7. Ladle the soup mix while still very hot into each crock pot about 1/2 inch from the top.8. Place the remaining slices of circular bread onto the top of each crock pot making sure the top is even with the top of the crock pot.9. Place the remaining slices over the top of the crock pots.10. Place the crock pots in the oven and broil until the top layer of provolone cheese is browned and toasty.11. Serve immediately and enjoy after it's cool enough to eat! Yum yum! So tasty!

Great Tasting Onion Soup.
If you love homemade French Onion Soup, then you will surely enjoy this product. I enjoyed this soup enough to purchase several more and bought the Holland Rusk rounds to go with it. I made it for myself but had to share it with my family members, who conveniently showed up as I was getting ready to have lunch. (The real reason I had to buy more.) I don't mind sharing, but I sure would've liked to have had more than one cup. I highly recommend this soup. My only added recommendation is that you add more onions than the mix calls for. Enjoy.

Restaurant quallity
I bought those French crocks for the coup and they worked great. Better yet the recipe could not have been easier. I did deviate a bit. I read another review suggesting beef broth rather than water, I did add the broth but six not seven cups. I cut up one white onion and cooked in a separate pan till it wilted, about ten minutes and then added to mix. I used croutons and a couple of thin sliced Sargento Provolone slices per bowl, tasted great to me, interested in trying their other recipes. The only problem is that one package makes about 5-6 bowls of soup. And French Onion does not take to being re warmed up. Next time I will divide the mix into smaller portions for fewer bowls, or invite all the neighbors as it comes out from the broiler.

Horrible!
I have bought this brand for the last 5 years or so and now it is Horrible. I don't know what they did to the recipe but it tastes like it's loaded with preservatives and artificial ingredients. It leaves an awful after taste too. I will never buy it again.

The best French Onion Soup mix I have ever used!!!! Love Cuginos Gourmet
WOW! I absolutely love French onion soup and usually order it at any restaurant that has it. Canned French onion soup is horrible and I’ve tried in the past to find French Onion soup for home but never found anything that tastes restaurant quality until I bought this Cuginos onion soup mix. It was easy too! I sautéed onions with butter, a little bit of brown sugar in a pan to carmelize them. I took the advice on the package directions to add a little red wine to the soup. I added the carmelized onions to the soup. I used toasted baguette French bread and provolone cheese for on top. The soup mix made all the difference and it was restaurant worthy! Will be buying this again. It was a hit with my family.
