Anvil International 8700158101 Anvil Coupling, Black, 0.75 Inch

Building Inspector said this fitting is not permitted in any US installation for Natural Gas. It is considered to be a thread protector and not a coupling. Only malleable fittings are permitted. This was total news to me and I showed him the ratings, but still rejected it. I checked with a local plumber and he told me the same thing.

I have gotten several Anvil brand fittings through Amazon, usually for sizes I can't find at the neighborhood hardware store, like this 2" coupler.Not much to say about it, other than the threads are precise and burr-free, and it has USA stamped on it. The sidewall seems thicker than the import fittings our hardware store carries, but since they don't go up to 2 inch, it is hard to tell for sure. I got black, instead of galvanized because for my use, I need to weld it into place, which is also why I got steel instead of iron (welds better).
