So funny, yet so emotional!
When I first started reading this book, I just thought it was going to be like all the rest. Funny, goofy, and imaginative. While it was all those things just as I suspected, there was one thing that I did not expect. *Spoilers!George and Harold's backstories! The moment I saw little Harold and read about how his parents got divorced, his father moving away, his loneliness, and getting bullied all the time, tears came to my eyes. Although, once little George came and saved Harold from the bullies and later they started making their very first comic, my heart was filled with joy. I never suspected that the author would tell me all these things so suddenly! However, this was just what I was hoping for. I always knew that there was some emotional story behind George and Harold meeting each other, and I desperately wanted to know what it was.I would definitely recommend that you don't skip over this book. Even if you're not the type of person that likes emotional stories, you'll still love all the silliness that this novel has to offer. Even the backstory itself still has lots of humor in it!Overall, I thought that this book was very cute, funny, and emotional for anyone who loves this series. It's definitely worth reading, believe me. ;-)

Longest book of the series
I read this book aloud for my tween sons. We're fans of the series, and we all enjoyed it very much. The pranks were pretty funny and elaborate, and the story could be used as a jumping off point for a conversation about bullying. Do Harold and George go too far in bullying the bullies? What can you do when the principal (or another grown-up) ignores bullying in real life? This book (#9) is by far the longest of the series at 303 pages. By comparison, "Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman" (#5) is the second longest book we own in the series, at 170 pages. Perhaps that's why we didn't like #9 quite as much as usual - it seemed in any case that the first 10 chapters were a little slow.I must add: don't judge a book by its title. As a mom, I was very negative to the series before my boys got their first book of the series as a gift. We read it, and I liked it a million times more than I expected.

Age of Underpocalypse
I've been reading these to my daughter. Because she demands it and loves them. I'm a huge comic nerd, but it's hard to read an actual comic to a kid, so this is a good midpoint. Plus, trying to explain X-Men conti uity to a kid is... Just not a good idea. Which brings me to this.Spoilers! It's Legion Quest into AoA from X-Men. How did this underwear joke laden kids book steer into the most iconic tropes of X-Men?

Kids love this series
I don’t understand the appeal, but the kids seem to think this is the funniest most brilliantly written series and that’s what matters. We have the entire collection and every night we read a couple chapters. It’s been integrated into our evening routine.

Awesome book
The good part was that George and Harold beat the biggest bully in the school. And the bad part was that the bully, kipper found out he had a different lock. And I also liked that it was very funny.
