Madden NFL 16 - PlayStation 4

This is my favorite Madden update in years. Despite the trend towards Madden Ultimate Team and neglect over player/franchise mode, this game feels largely revitalized due to the changes to the Wide Receiver mechanics. The options to chose the type of catch (and throw - high/low) adds depth that I never expected this franchise to reach. Player matchups are more important than ever and options for team building are expanded as a result.Additionally, the new scouting mechanic is a lot of fun and adds a real-life risk to draft picks that previous incarnations did not have. You only can see the top 3 characteristics for player - everything else is a mystery until you see combine results in the offseason. It is hard to truly know exactly how good a player could be - which I find great and engaging unlike other games where you could figure out the system, making scouting and drafting a chore.The final major change was with player experience. Most players don't get a ton of EXP in practice or even in games which makes drafting and free agency all the more important.Otherwise, not a lot changed from prior incarnations. If you like the Madden Franchise, you know what you're getting.

I have been a madden player for a long time. I have always loved madden and it will always be a favorite game of mine. Now I know with games like this that are made year after year it can seem like much of the same. That is true with this game there is an awful lot that is the same but with that said there is a lot that is different and new. The new things added this year make this one of if not the best madden game ever. This years version of the game is fun for the person who is an experinced madden player or someone who has never heard of or played madden before. It is really easy to pick up the controller and play this game.

Simply put, it is the best version of Madden football since Madden 2005. Player ratings matter, and the offline single player franchise experience is the best it has ever been since Madden 2005. gameplay support post lauch has been outstanding (4 patches) and the gameplay has never been better.Seriously. A great return to form for Madden football. If you have been a long time Madden player and were turned off last generation. Welcome back. Madden 16 delivers the goods. I am now in year 3 of my offline CFM and am having a total blast.I employ 32 team control (owner mode) and have my own unique house rules and custom all pro sliders. Also there are some fantastic classic roster set's out there for PS41986, 1990 and 1999. Which adds even more replay-ability to the game.

I have only had the guy a few days and it seems like its the "Year of the Catch" cause it seems EVERYONE can make an aggressive catch (pressing triangle). I was playing franchise mode (more on that later) and Brock Osweiler had 430 yards and 3 Tds all in the first half. This is playing on Madden level. Just seems way more easy to make a catch now.I do like how you can change your depth chart without going into that menu.I don't like Kubiak as a coach so i fired him before the season started. He was only level 8 i think. I only had 3.76 million in funds to get a coach. The one i wanted had a tag of 6.6 million. The lowest was Kubak who i fired at 4 million. I exited and the game said i needed a coach if i didnt choose one (i couldn't) one would be assigned. I said okay and i was "awarded" the 6.6 million coach and it cost me nothing. So that is a win.When setting up my franchise. I tried to do a fantasy draft which are always fun as i tend to get young players on rookie deals and young players already locked up long term. This is horrible how they have it set up. You cant sort the columns. You cant pick where you draft it is automatic (or maybe its based on last seasons result; i dont know as i didnt look very closely) I was drafting around 26th as the Broncos. There were some 96 players there then a 85 player then some 93. I could not sort them in order. Sort by speed. Sort by anything. If thats the case the only way to do this is what i usually do is a random draft and make not on where players get drafted. Then i can draft my super team if i choose to do so. lol.I got this game due to a screw up and it was a 1/4 of the cost else i would be disappointed i got it. I just wish NFL games were open to other companies. Seems EA is afraid of some competition.if you like football and want the new rookies then im sure you will get the game. .Just wait till black friday when its 50%.

Good game but could be better. The new draft mode is pretty cool. It involves drafting a team like you do in fantasy football and then playing with that team. Pretty sweet. Especially if you want to play with a group of your friends in a league you all complete a draft and then play madden against each other with those players. Almost like an online franchise draft. The Ultimate Team is by far my favorite mode to play in any EA game and EA continues to make this mode better. I love it, it just plain awesome. Ti love the scenarios where you get to play certain scenarios of last years football season and complete them with your team. One thing I don't like about it is that they give you random good players for like 2 weeks. They should just stop doing that. It makes no sense and since everyone basically gets that player it is really pointless. I also believe it is time for madden to institute and actually penalty system. It gets insane when you can take your DB and run into a WR and no penalty. Also insane that at just random times you get called for random stuff like facemasks. There should be some type of system to it.Overall though the game is better than last years. Better graphics. The game modes are updated to my liking. The online features work better, it just is a better game. I would recommend buying it at the price it is now.
