Pot surface treatment is important
The pot has proper surface treatment, it is very important for uses. I bought another the same pot but no surface treament before I bought this one. It was terrible. There was a lot of rust after the first time use. The rust cannot be clearly cleaned. This means we have to eat the rust along with our foods. It is terrible for our health. We had to throw it away and buy the one with surface treatment on Amzon.com. The pot with surface treatment is always clean without any rust. We like this one.

The pan coating burned off immediately
I bought this wok a few months ago and finally got around to using it. For the first cook i was frying some onion and garlic before adding more ingredients. I noticed that the black pan coating flaked off. This has never happed to a pan of mine before and I was cooking on Medium/High.

“This is just what we wanted!”
This wok was just what the description says: deep enough for large meals, not too heavy, heats evenly, and cleans up easily too. Use your favorite recipes and follow the instructions for cleaning. You can’t go wrong with this one! I gave it to my daughter and her husband for Christmas and they’ve already used it multiple times. This is a good quality pan that will last you for years.

Coating Came off with First Cook
Like a bunch of other recent reviews: this is not a carbon steel normal wok. It has a very cheap "teflon" (not teflon) coating that produced literally BLACK SMOKE (like burning plastic) the first time I put it on the heat. As other pictures show, the coating came off. I wiped it out with a paper towel and used it to cook, but in retrospect, that was probably a bad idea health wise. I don't understand why this pan had so many positive reviews. I've had several basic regular steel woks in the past that had no coating and they worked great. This seems like a health hazzard. Unfortunately, I didn't actually try making stir fry until two months after I bought it, so I guess I'm out of luck as far as a refund goes. I would definitely NOT recommend this wok. God knows what I ingested with my food :| I will search for a pan with no coating. Also, this item includes no seasoning instructions or warnings about high heat causing damage or anything...so I can only assume I didn't do anything irregular when I put it on the burner (a standard glass-top electric stove, not even flame).

The inner coating does come off
For the price, this is a good wok. Unfortunately, the Teflon-like coating does scratch off easily. I took the advice of someone in the question/answer section and used a wire brush attachment on my drill to sand the inner coating down to bare steel. To keep it from rusting. I applied avocado oil to the inside and baked it upside down in a 500 degree oven for 45 minutes. Note: the long handle unscrews, so you can take it off prior to baking. Unfortunately, the handle on the other side is not removable. I covered it in aluminum foil but the short handle turned black anyway. Although it took a little time to fix it, I like it now and I use it all of the time. I removed a star because it wasn’t serviceable from the factory.

Great Buy
I have been wanting a wok for some time now. I bought this one based on the price point and reviews. I am so happy with my purchase. I made a variety of rice Krispie treats - like several batches where I had to wash the pan between each batch (made 6 different flavors) and when I tell you, clean up was a breeze. Every time, the sticky goo did not stick and was easy to clean...allowing me a quick turn around to start a new batch.The pan is made of really great materials. It has a little weight to it. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to do some fried rice or something!

The Chef of our house loves it!
I love the fact that it has a non-stick surface, cleans up easily and it’s better made an any wok we have ever owned. It is sturdy, the handle is wood and there’s a eye hook to hang it by. It is very versatile and bigger than I thought. It was a Father’s Day gift and the Chef of our house loves using it.
