Peter Lindbergh: Untold Stories

This is a beautiful book! The choice of using a mat paper was brilliant. Lindbergh’s photos on mat paper are more organic/natural looking and have a wonderful feeling to the touch.His other recent book, “Azzedine Alaia Peter Lindbergh” is also printed on mat paper. I own about 7 or 8 Lindbergh books and these two, because of the mat paper, are my favorites.

The prints are like bad dark photocopy

I've seen some reviews saying the paper and print quality aren't top notch, but as someone who have bought most of Lindbergh's books, I can't skip this one. Since many of these images are from different shoots over the years, most have been featured in other books in the past, so I can say they look so different to the point that they can't be looked at. There isn't true back but rather a flat grey quality to all of the prints, and the prints are noticeably much much softer comparable to bw prints in newspapers decades ago. The prints are so flat to the point that much of the details are lost. Believe me, I'm not one of those who is extremely particular with the print quality but this is intolerable. Considering that this is the last exhibition which he put it together himself (at least mostly), this is truly a shame. The ones you should get instead are Images of women ii and Shadows on the wall. Overall, the print quality deserves zero star, but Lindbergh deserves 10, so even out I'll give it one star.

Fantastic book by the master

Beautiful body of work; not just a collection of pretty pictures, but a selection of movie-stills-like images full of drama, brilliant portraits and nudes, moody exteriors and subtle details. The photographs in this book are gritty, grainy, blurry, underexposed and often with a lot of negative space, so if you expect perfectly lit and polished fashion photos, this may not be the book for you.

Las fotografías más personales del autor elegidas por él mismo. Un recorrido a través de toda su carrera fotográfica. Una buena edición y todo el sabor de la fotografía analógica en unas fotografías que se alejan de los convencionalismos de la fotografía de moda.

Excelente obra prima desse grande fotografo.
