Rough start with the lock but it is amazing!
I want to say that I had a bad experience, then a great experience. This company is amazing. I own a 2007 Yamaha FZ1 that is modded and tricked out, incredible performance. I want to protect this bike and I researched alarms for sometime. On arrival, I had my doubts. I read many so-so ratings and got a bit spooked by some bad experiences with earlier models. Please note here... I am a mechanical engineer in my own time, I rebuild cars and I am a perfectionist. On arrival, I read the instruction and pulled out the battery tab plastic slip to engage the alarm. It was a very hard pull and finally in coming out the plastic door was dislodged. Long story short, It went off at times, it was not following the pattern of setting beeps it should, and it didn't seem to be working correctly, there was no logic or pattern in it going off and if I moved it at all in my hand it went off. I thought there is no way it could be liveable. I was frustrated, and emailed the contact email at about 9:30 pm PST time thinking it was impossible to get a response on a Thursday night. I received a email back from Xena within 30 minutes asking me some detailed questions and asking me for a picture. I couldn't believe this level of customer service. I re-read the email and it seemed there could be a issue with the plastic door. Sure enough, after following their suggestions I found out that the plastic tab removal to engage the battery had pulled the whole sensor out of its snap-in cradle for some reason. Snapping it back into place, and the lock-alarm now works absolutely perfectly and it could not be better! This alarm lock is compact, and is very shrill when the bike tire is moved. Rocking back and forth or vibration does not set it off, it is set off when the wheel is moved, which is what you want. I highly recommend this alarm lock and commend the company for amazing problem solving customer service.

Great product!!!
The lock & alarm function as described. So far there was once when the alarm went off in my bike compartment.Fortunately I was just about to start my ride.Besides that works as describe so far.The Xena wordings on the lock could have been highlighted in black so as to make it stand out for advertising purpose but not a major issue.Get a black marker & its solved manually....Cheers!!!Ronald

Nice looking, but doesn't work!!
Nice looking lock, but from the moment I got it the alarm part kept clicking & making sounds even after being left alone for hours. The clicking sound does sound like a bomb waiting to go off which could be a real issue when around some buildings & security is tight. I ended up dismantling the alarm part piece, but it still kept going off. The instruction booklet wasn't of much help. After a week of clicking & beeping & not stopping I in annoyance grabbed a shoe and smacked the alarm part about 5 Times for it to finally stop. The alarm part must be very faulty & it's a shame to see this lock not work as advertised.

2008 M50 and Happy with this.
Keep this in mind first. Buying this in a package is like buying a helmet online, you have no idea when it was packaged. It is a very common complaint that the alarm goes off all the time and they return it right after using it the first time. BUY A NEW BATTERY!!! CR2 size battery according to the website. With any electronic item, when it starts to run out, it fails. That is a fail safe way of telling you to replace the battery. I had a new battery on hand as soon as I opened the alarm and it was already going off before I was able to take it apart. This alarm is really great. It is VERY loud. If you were inside a bar in the restroom, you might no hear it but aside from that, everyone else will. Even with needing to replace the battery the day I got it, I am still giving it five stars. When it comes to protection, this is a great product. Also, check out online videos, there is a lot of really good info out there for these. If you have any questions, i will try to keep up with this. I will also update with any changes.

..
The alarm was rather quiet, so they sent me another one right away and it was plenty loud. Three months later the alarm started going off in my saddle bag and when ever I would try to get it off or install it. I've see that this is a common thing with these. Too bad, because it's a good idea. Obviously they went cheap on the design of the alarm itself. I now just use it for the disc lock.

I removed the battery after just a few weeks. The alarm started going off in my tank bag while riding and not locked at all. It's too expensive for a non alarm disk lock.

Good lock!
Nice disc lock wih alarm. I use it on the front brake disc on a Suzuki Sv650. You would need a deeper mouth to use it on the rear. The alarm is quite loud. It is pretty heavy but stores nicely under the saddle. The yellow paint is really flaking easily when you drop or bang it on the asphalt, so expect it to look less sharp and bright soon after a few uses! Overall a good product.

Brilliant Device
This disc lock is extremely well designed and manufactured. It will deter those who wish to do a quick grab and run. Easy to install and remove, and loud enough to be very irritating to anyone who tries to tamper with it. Had some issues with the alarm module, and Xena was extremely courteous and very fast in resolving the issue. Its very rare that you find a company today, with that kind ofcustomer service. If they really want your ride, they are gonna take it, no matter how well you have it locked down.
