The additional preorder bonuses code (avatars, in game items and theme) arrive separately in an amazon email.The steelbook is pretty nice with one side depicting the default female player avatar and the other side the default male avatar. and the artbook very fancy. The concept art is pretty amazing.Now, for the actual game review. I’ve been playing for a few hours now and I can already tell it is one of my favorites. If you enjoyed the first one, you’ll most certainly enjoy this one. Nioh 2 is more of the same but a definite upgrade.The yokai form parry gives the combat even more depth besides the tried and true stance changes and ki flux. The character customization is surprisingly deep and one of the best I’ve seen in these type of games.I cannot forget to mention the new dark/yokai realm sections during levels and the yokai realm phase during boss fights. As I played the two public beta demos, it was very interesting to actually experience the evolution of the balancing of this new feature. It was also very nice to know the developers took feedback to heart and polished the game as needed to get the amazing product it is today: a challenging but fair game.Nioh 2 feels more like Nioh 1.5 with a fresh coat of new paint, with a character of our choosing instead of William and a new story. which is not a bad thing. It makes improvements where needed. If you played the first one you’ll be able to pick this one up right away. And for one, I am very happy that this series is so reliable.You can count on it to always be good. So it gives me a lot of confidence on the season pass, if last games is anything to go by.An amazing game for sure, and very recommended.

If you liked Nioh 1, but felt like it was a little rough around the edges in some ways, then this game is for you. The burst counter makes encounters much more interesting and managing an opponent's Ki gauge feels much more crucial in Nioh 2, making it feel much better to play. Some enemies have low health, but a lot of Ki. Some are the reverse. It almost gives the gameplay a Sekiro feel in manipulating your enemies.The new weapons add a lot to the game as well. The switchglaive and dual hatchets have a very well thought out moveset and ate a blast to play. They also made the skill tree a skill web, which is much more satisfying to navigate.By extension, they made so the more you use different weapons and abilities, the more skill points you get for those specific trees.Great systems, great bosses, and a very fair-feeling difficulty. My death's have been my fault 100%. Never have I felt cheated in death. And when you succeed in a boss fight, knowing the timing for all of their attacks and how to counter them, you feel almost godly when you pummel them to death. Pick this up and play your heart out. Because it will take all your heart to beat it!

Excellent game , if you're a fan of the first nioh this is a must have, as the core gameplay and systems are the same, with much refinement and tons of additional features. The best soulsborne style rpg I've ever played. Before the review part: This is the correct promo. The demon armor and charm are emailed if you purchase on Amazon, though there may be a couple days delay from delivery to you getting the code. Ignore the 1 stra reviews from people freaking out over cosmetic DLC that wasn't given quickly enough.Now the game itself is really Nioh with a lot of quality of life and feature updates. The only downside so far is the fact that the yokai form which seems so awesome is pretty lackluster. Maybe living weapon from the first game was OP, but this just feels usually not worthwhile and takes a long time to charge. At least that can be patched of need be.
