Cool, Quiet, and Stylish - The Ultimate Cooler for Compact Builds!
The Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 chromax.black has been a revelation for my compact PC build. Its low-profile design, standing at just 37mm, effortlessly fits into my Small Form Factor case without interfering with RAM or PCIe slots, which is a massive win for anyone dealing with limited space. The all-black aesthetic is sleek and perfectly complements my setup's color scheme, adding a touch of class without clashing with other components or RGB lighting.Performance-wise, the renowned NF-A9x14 fan lives up to its reputation. Thanks to the Low-Noise Adaptor and PWM control, my system runs cool under heavy loads without the annoying hum often associated with smaller coolers. It's whisper-quiet at idle, making it perfect for my HTPC setup where noise can be a deal-breaker.Installation was a breeze with the included NT-H1 thermal paste and SecuFirm2 mounting system. It's compatible with a wide range of AMD Ryzen CPUs and APUs, making it a versatile choice for various builds. The 6-year warranty from Noctua is the cherry on top, offering peace of mind that this cooler is built to last. For anyone looking to keep their AMD Ryzen system cool, quiet, and stylish in a compact package, the Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 chromax.black is an unbeatable choice.

Excellent performance even in a very small case and an overclocked CPU
I bought this heatsink in order to build a decent gaming computer in a very small case (Geeek A31) and I couldn't be happier. It cools an overclocked Ryzen 5 1600 (3.8 GHz) and never gets warmer than 72ºC under heavy load. The sound of the fan is very low, ideal for a silent computer. Either the fan or the aluminium block are very good quality and look gorgeous. The only drawback is the fact that you have to pay +£10 just to get this black version. If you don't mind the colour, just go for regular Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 so you can save some money.

Great Low-Profile Cooler with Minor Quirks
I recently picked up the Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 chromax.black for my AMD build and overall, I’m pretty pleased with it. First off, the black finish looks sleek and really helps with the aesthetic of my setup. It’s a low-profile cooler, so if you’re working with small cases or just want to keep things tidy, this thing fits perfectly. It’s got a compact design that doesn’t take up too much space, which was a major selling point for me.Installation was straightforward, thanks to the included mounting kit. No confusing instructions or complicated steps here, just a simple process that didn’t take long at all. The cooling performance is solid for daily tasks and light gaming. I’ve noticed my CPU temps stay nice and manageable, even during longer sessions. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, if you’re planning on heavy overclocking, this cooler might not be the best choice. Even though it does a decent job for regular use, it can struggle a bit under heavy loads. Also, the fan can get a tad noisy when ramping up, especially compared to other coolers I’ve used. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s noticeable if you’re sitting in a quiet room. All in all, the Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 chromax.black is a great option if you need a reliable low-profile cooler for your AMD build. Just keep in mind that it’s not designed for extreme performance, and you may notice some fan noise under load. If you’re okay with that, it definitely does its job well and keeps my system nice and cool.

Fantastic, bye bye amd stock cooler!
This product is absolutely fantastic. I have a small pc and the stock amd cooler was obnoxiously loud in order to keep my pc cool, this fan is almost silent under most normal situations and only notice it when under heavy load. My temps have been fantastic since using this, the performance is incredible for the small size of this cooler! couldn't recommend enough for others with small form factor pcs!

Easy Install, Quiet and Effective
Use this on an open air system (Hydra). Only a Ryzen 5600 but given how small this cooler is, it handles this with ease. Stress tests around 67/68 degrees fans get to 1900 rpm which you can barely hear.General use sub 60 degrees and inaudible. Perfect for my build and requirements which are not overly demanding.

Excellent thermals in a small form factor
Easy secure mounting, excellent thermals with a fan duct in a Dan A4 on a 5600X, comparable to the 92mm AIO it replaced

DO NOT BUY IF LOOKING FOR AM5 COOLER
I dont have any doubts this cooler works well but if you are thinking of buying this + the barcket kit for AM5 dont, the coating/screws used to hold the bracket together are so soft they strip when being unscrewed. Even if you do eventually get them out the screw holes will be too stripped to screw back in. Just buy the AM5 version...
