Hanes Men's Double Tough Ankle Socks

Well it's that time of the year...Spring and that means its time to throw out the socks with holes and invest in a new package of socks for all of the outdoor activities upon us and these did not disappoint. These socks are comfortable, fit well, wash well (have already been through 2 wash/dry cycles and there was no change in their condition), and they seem to really keep moisture at bay so my feet can feel fresh, clean and dry while I am being active running errands or working in the garden.I would buy these again and/or recommend them to a friend.

It's harder than you think to find socks with actual COTTON that aren't the premium brands $$. My two boys now wear adult size shoes & socks. Polyester/rayon socks have always grossed me out.. they seem to get stinker faster and don't absorb moisture as well, in my opinion. It seems that is almost all they offer nowadays for the socks you find in the store, and most of what I've seen online in a decent price range. I have to comb through item after item of the bulk packs of basic socks just to find some with any cotton at all. These actually were labeled as 90% cotton which is surprising.I purchased the black ankle socks - "cushion ankle double tough durability" (not the x-temp as shown in some of the review photos). The fabric details on the package are different than what is listed ... my bag says 90% cotton, 19% polyester and 1% spandex. I'm not sure I entirely believe it, but that's what it says. These socks aren't thick, super stretchy, or premium feeling but they were on sale and it's a big bag of socks on for two active boys that should last us awhile.

I wear a size 13 medium. These socks are easy to put on. They are very very comfortable and they fit great.

While the socks are good and fit well, look nice, they go on well, the quality is not as good as they once were. Compared to my older version of the same sock they are much thinner. So much so you can see my hand through the material and in the old one you can't! These were supposed to be padded and double tough! If that was the case, why am I seeing my hand through the material? It's like you left out the double in the tough...So, now Hanes charges more money and uses half the material while claiming the socks are still the same socks. Even putting them on a scale, the old worn sock was heavier. I won't embarrass Hanes more than this review by posting the pictures because then someone would take the pictures to cause legal issues. That's not what this is about. They still make a good, solid product! They simply need to tweak its production standard.
