Volkman Petamine Breeder Formula 2lb

My cockatiel loves Petamine, but she especially loves to eat it off the floor. I try to mix it in her seed, and that's sorta okay for her, but it's never enough. She will throw her seed onto the floor looking for the nonexistent stash of Petamine. So I got out a treat cup and gave her some Petamine. Viola! A happy bird! Except, what? Why did she just dump the cup onto the floor? My Dimples loves to eat her Petamine off the floor! No matter what I do, that cup will not stay! I have tightened the prongs and that little thing will fight to the death to get the cup loose so those golden morsels stream to their rightful place onto the bottom of her cage, where she will gleefully eat until her belly is bulging and I hear that beloved sound of her mashing beak as she lulls herself to sleep in the corner perch of her cage. Yes, I know this is a breeders' formula, but I've had several cockatiels in my life and they all adore Petamine as a daily treat - usually in seed or cups. Oh, well. Mama loves her girl. I will do whatever my Dimples wants. "Alexa, order Petamine!"

I love the stuff for the birds. This is my second purchase I notice my birds, more happy and healthier. I also noticed my birds more colorful and started to breed within less than a month. Will continue to buy and use also as a supplement, I recommend this product to everyone.

I've had cockatiels as pets for 50 years. I don't breed but my hens often lay eggs at some in their lives. Every 'tiel I've ever had loves this stuff so I am assured that they get the added nutrients during the stress of laying. I also serve it as a treat as other times.

I used Petamine for years then suddenly I was unable find it for a few years. Came across this and immediately ordered it. I don’t remember it containing so many seeds. Used to be made by Kellogg now made by Volkman. It was great for converting my rescued cockatiels from a seed diet over to a more nutritious pellet diet. I would sprinkle it on a dish of pellets. The powder sticks to the pellets and before I knew it they were eating pellets. Good supplement for any elderly bird too! Happy to see it’s back, in spite of all the seeds it contains. Hopefully the powder is the same.

My bird's absolutely love eating this stuff. I mix it in with their dry bird seed and mix it in with egg food also. They scarfed it up both ways and within a week I had eggs from both of my hands. Most all of the eggs were fertile. And chicks have come out healthy. As for the flavor, they enjoy it, eat it and it absolutely smells delicious. Although I didn't taste it, it does smell beautiful. : )

I hear this is good for birds. I give it to him when he's hormonal and/or molting. Hopefully it helps.

My cockatiel has relied on this food for 20 years. It's nutrient rich and the first thing he goes for. It used to be much less expensive and I could go to a pet store to purchase it but it seems to be limited in supply these days and very expensive. The product itself is great.

When you are breeding birds it is very important to make sure that they get the extra vitamins and nutrients that they need. We heard about this from a fellow breeder and so far the birds love it. I just sprinkle right onto their daily mixture to ensure they get that little extra that they need.
