Borea BR08 for $900!!?? Uhh yes please!
When I saw these at $450 a piece I couldn't resist owning a pair of Triangle speakers. I've spent a couple weeks with these so far and let me tell you..... Wow! I have a 7.1 with the Klipsch RP series speakers and an SVS sub and I'm extremely happy with that setup for movies, gaming and TV series, but I wanted something a bit more revealing when it comes to music. These do not disappoint. Clarity on male and female vocals are so stunning and the separation from everything in the mix is shocking from the three way setup of these speakers. The imaging is also fantastic. I knew for a fact that my center channel wasn't active during some YouTube watching but I convinced myself to get up and put my ear up to it just to make sure. Same with my rears. I was 100% in stereo mode but I heard things behind me from time to time. Now these aren't a replacement by any means for a surround sound setup, but just had those moments were it did make me perk up and look for a second. So happy with this purchase.UPDATE: so I knew there was a such thing as a break in period, but never really experienced a huge difference in my speakers, or headphones. A little bit, but wow.... After using these exclusively for a few months I've noticed they started becoming much more 3D and the imaging is wild to say the least. I started noticing it on simple shows like Naruto, nothing extravagant but things sounded like they were passing behind my head. Then my wife a d I started watching The Last of Us and again I felt like my Klipsch were set back up (7.1 surround). Now I've been playing Metroid Prime remake and wow! The sounds that are surrounding my head are phenomenal. I can't brag about these speakers enough. Seriously

Not actually made in France
I would buy a pair of Focal’s if you want high quality and made in France speakers. I was fooled, but I noticed when I received these speakers in fine print at bottom assembled in China. Now, I know a lot of these companies try to conceal that by saying designed and manufactured in France or any other western country. But, I can tell you they made the parts and sent them to be built by lower labored workers with less experience and ability than their French made speakers which cost $10,000. I have focal speakers with beryllium tweeters and those tweeters alone cost $5,000 each to replace, so I am comparing $500 each to $5,000 each speaker tweeters. I can also tell you focal makes much cheaper speakers that are too made 100% in France also. I would buy focal’s if you are looking for a well made, great sounding speaker for a reasonable price too.

Clear, precise sound, lively and energetic, lush, crisp presentation
Upgrading audio gear has always been a spiral climb for me, like a raptor using heat and currents to gain altitude gradually. Finding what gear meshes well and provides the type of synergy that creates music that sounds better than it should for the price point of the gear is key.I do a limited audio budget, and after getting over a period of years a Hegel integrated amplifier, then an Audiolab CD transport, I began stalking speakers. My Totem Rainmakers sounded fine---they still do---but I missed the fuller experience of sitting between a pair of floor-standing speakers. I was questing for speakers to use in a 11' by 15' space and needed some that were efficient, would not call undue attention to themselves, and were within my fairly modest budget.I settled on a pair of Triangle Borea BR08 speakers in walnut (I think both the black and the white versions also look sharp). They come with wooden plinths and spikes for an extra measure of stability and are equipped with magnetic grills, a nice feature. The cabinets are manufactured wood and the dark finish looks nice with my gear (which is black). I will not delve into the technical description Triangle provides except to say that I think the sound that these speakers creates is quite crisp and nuanced.I generally listen to a fair amount of jazz, some electronic music, plenty of rock, and some Americana folk. In other words, anything from old Fleetwood Mac (before Buckingham-Nicks) and Family, to the Gourds or Woods, to Gil-Scott Heron or Flying Lotus, to King Crimson, E.S.T, Joe Henry, Mathias Eick, or Dan Weiss. If your read between the lines, I guess the point is that I am not listening to much blunt force rock. I enjoy complex and subtle and unusual elements in music. And that is why I think the Triangle Borea BR08 speakers suit me. They excel at reproducing percussion and have clear mid-range and high-range sound. Bass is fine for me but these speakers are not going to render gut-bucket bass with the punch that some may be seeking. I would argue that Triangle is pitching these speakers for perhaps listeners who wants to sit and listen, taking time to deconstruct the music and letting the sound wash over them like a rain shower. The BRO8 speakers have a lush, but crisp presentation. They reproduce music clearly and precisely and with energy. They are not super finicky as far as placement, but I do give my space some room to breath.I do wish the speaker connectors allowed direct insertion of banana plugs on cables as you have to twist the connectors, insert the plugs, then tighten them. Not a big deal, but this is a feature I have always preferred. Not a bit more about those connectors. When my speakers arrived last September, they were both damaged by the shipper. Most serious was that the speaker plate containing the connectors was shattered, creating both the potential for wires to contact each other and leaving the cabinets open. (The seller was very gracious and worked with me.) I needed to replace the damaged part and also found that I was missing several of the spikes. I contacted Triangle USA which is affiliated with Antal Audio Group, and they very promptly found a replacement part and another set of spikes and sent them to me at no costs. Kudos to Triangle for such services. The bottom line is that there are several excellent tower speakers at this price point, and how one bests the others is often a subjective matter. I recommend auditioning the Triangle Borea BR08 if possible and see what you think. The imaging, clarity, and decent but not overbearing looks were just what I wanted in this loop of my audio upgrade spiral.
