Superb AirCast product
This cast provides exceptional support and comfort. Very customizable inflation chambers that have helped reduce swelling and increased support. I used this cast for a broken Fibula at ankle. My clinic provided the walker FP upon initial diagnosis of a broken ankle which worked to stabilize the fracture until further medical consultation. Fortunately I did not require surgery, however the AirCast FP did not provide the stability needed for weight bearing nor the level of customization or comfort, especially to help with swelling. In consultation with my medical provider, I ordered the walker XP once my fracture was stable and it exceeded my expectations. It is much more comfortable than the FP and has allowed me to begin weight bearing (with medical guidance of course) which I cannot do in my FP without discomfort. This cast has accelerated my healing process by minimizing atrophy and supported walking earlier, as well as helped reduce swelling. I am very pleased with this purchase. Also, a lot cheaper to buy here than through a medical provider but of course, you should totally check with your orthopedist. Also, quick note; not a good cast if you have large calves, which I do not have so it works excellently for me.

Helped with my ankle pain while walking
I bought the Large. I wear a women's size 11. It was perfect and a lot cheaper then the Medium. The Medium would have been too short, my toes would have been hanging off. I was wearing a Aircast stir-up style brace before which wasn't really helping my ankle, fibula fracture with ligament damage. This boot supports my ankle well and I can walk without much pain. Love the 4 adjustable air cells! Delivery was super fast with standard shipping ($2.99), ordered late Tuesday night got it Thursday morning. Only complaint is that it's a little heavy which is expected, it's better then a plaster cast! Very happy with my purchase! I tried a black walking boot (can't remember brand?) at an orthotic/safety equipment store which did not have any air cells. It was not supportive at all and heavier.

Great support... for a week....
I bought this boot after surgery #5 on the same foot. It is the 5th or 6th boot I've had in the 6 years since my injury. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, it was great for the first week I wore it, but now I'm having issues. I wear a women's size 11 shoe. According to the size chart, I should get a medium or large. I bought the medium (since that's the size of all my other boots....same brand, different "model"). I'm only semi-weight bearing at the moment. I'm a bit "fluffy" but don't have monstrous legs. I put this boot on, and within minutes, the top cover slides sideways exposing part of my leg and the velcro slips down (see pictures) causing increased motion and pain when walking. (I had tendon/ligament repairs/replacements...5 times)Does anyone have any suggestions on how the boot is "supposed" to fit?? I may just be using it wrong. Most people don't have to wear a boot for months at a time, I, on the other hand, seem to enjoy having to wear a boot for 3+ mos at a time! The Dr told me it looked right after I put it on at my last appt.

Worth Every Cent
I ordered this boot to replace my previous orthopedic issued one that was so loud and crunchy you could hear it across the house. I couldn't walk anywhere without waking people up as it sounded like I was constantly crinkling a bag of potato chips. This boot gave me comfort and the peace an quiet I was desiring.I was in a boot for 8 weeks before ordering this one and I wish I would have order sooner. Unlike my previous one, I have no problem with being uneven in this boot as long as I have a tennis shoe on my other foot. I needed an evenup before, but not with this boot. With 4 air cells I am able to customize the boot for better fit and comfort. I added a piece of velcro to the top strap as it kept sliding downAfter 2.5 months, the front panel aircell stoped holding air.i contacted the manufacturer and they promptly replaced it for me under warranty. 5 stars for customer service.I normally wear a women's 7.5 and I got a small. It says a small goes up to an 8.5, but I can't imagine an 8.5 fitting as my toes are pretty close to the edge and I'm only a 7.5.

Beats the big black boots by a mile
My orthopedist recommended this boot for my broken ankle when I said that the big black boot I got at the emergency room was very uncomfortable. Nothing will make your ankle stop hurting but this boot will certainly make your weeks of wearing it easier to take. It's lighter weight. It has only three straps and the front section comes off completely so you can place it on your leg where it's most comfortable. I put some little marks on the front and back pieces to align them at the best fit for my leg. There are four inflatable cushions for a custom fit.But nothing is perfect so here are the reasons I did not give this 5 stars. I wear a size 7 medium width shoe with an average calf size and the SMALL size boot is a close fit. One reviewer mentioned they had a large calf and needed to go up a size. I did not inflate any of the cushions which might have made it even more comfortable. I wish the product description had been more specific for fit recommendations. The inflatable areas have somewhat hard edges which are crimped don't lie smoothly inside the boot. They can poke a bit along the back side of the leg. Every boot I have seen has this problem. I use some thick foam padding in those spots to alleviate this. There are three flaps which fold over the toe area and can get warm so take the front flap and fold it down under your foot and let your toes peek out a bit to breathe. The description mentions including two socks - forget those. They are not socks. They are two lengths of cheap tubular knit fabric with one end sewn shut. I have been wearing this sockless since the fit is so snug that a sock might make it too tight. Even with what I have just mentioned, I wore this boot for five hours last night without taking it off to ice or just get some "free" time and had no problems. If you are looking for more comfort with plenty of support, get this boot.
