Solid build looks good
I have had one power blip since installing the USP. Work great. The unit is well built and the display has the information on it that I need. Very simple to use and replacing the batteries seem simple. I think I made the right choice. Also, I ended up contacting their service people by phone. It was a non-technical problem having to do with their account setup rejecting my PW without telling me why. The point is I was able to get to someone on their tech staff very quickly. That is a good sign if there is a problem I can actually speak to someone and get help.

Working fine for five years now (replaced batteries at 3 year mark)
Batteries died pretty much exactly at the three year mark (expected lifetime is 3-5 years, I believe). I was worried that maybe the unit itself died, but once I replaced the batteries it worked perfectly fine, and has been going for two more years now.

Easy to change out batteries.
Have kept my computer systems safe from repeated surges and power drop offs until their batteries service life expired.

Starting to FAIL in 14 months -- Support is practically non-existent
I have been in the computer business for years and if at all possible I have used Tripp Lite products. I mean 30 years ago I was using and recommending their line conditioner UPS systems from desktops to rack servers. I recently built a home workstation that is a beast. It's priced out at about $7k. I wanted no other UPS than a Tripp Lite. I live in an area where there is lots of lightning and at times the power flickers (about 2 to 3 times a month in the summer). This system would trip with an audible beep and keep my computer system from going down. About 2 months ago when one of those flickers happened, the Tripp Lite emitted a constant beeps and my computer and monitors when down -- hard. This is the worst thing to have happen to expensive equipment and operating systems. The Tripp Lite UPS went down too. I had to long press the power button repeatedly to get it to reset and power back on. (At these times the battery always reports a full charge.) And once I restarted my computer, all seemed to be well. Then a few days later this scenario repeated.I contacted Amazon's support. The support person told me that the unit had a 12 month warranty and was not within a period where they could do anything for me. I replied back for them to read the HEADING on the product. It clearly says 3 year warranty. So I have waited for any response. Crickets. I'm starting to think that their warranty is a fraud. I will never recommend this product line again. When you need them, they don't show up.

Off to a rocky start - Listed dimensions are WRONG
Listed dimensions are WRONGTurned unit "off" thinking I was turning it "on".Details of what happened below.Instructions from the quick installation guide on page 3 :STEP 1: Plug the UPS into a properly grounded outlet. After plugging the UPS into a wall outlet, press and hold the POWER BUTTON for onesecond to turn on the UPS (See Basic Operation Section).Notes :• The UPS will not turn on automatically in the presence of live utility power.---------------------------------------Really? Notes say "UPS will not turn on automatically"? This is What actually happened below.I plugged it in and the unit turned itself on, as in, all the way on. The online icon was lit, but I was not sure because it says push on button and a beep will sound indicating it is on, this is on page 4 it says when turning the unit on it will beep once.So I pushed the button and it turned off with a beep. So I thought I "turned it on" because in the instructions it does not say the "online icon" will show indication the "unit is on".Second page of instructions same thing. Then down in a section called "optional installation" on the quick installation page 3 it does say something about the online icon indicated the unit is on.Really? Did I just turn this unit off? Thinking I turned it on? Seems so.In all the instructions on any page it says NOTHING about push "on" button and the "online icon" will show the unit is on "in the same sentence", it just says push on button and the unit will beep once.So when you plug it in, as I did, and it comes on all the way, like me you might not realize when you push the on button and it beeps you are actually "turning it off", because it beeps when turning off and turning on via the on button.Well upon further investigation etc, I realized the "online icon" indicated the unit is "ON" as that is kind of obvious it should says that when the unit is all the way on.I think most people will figure this out or with most units when you first plug it in maybe the unit does not turn itself on, actually on with the online icon lit like mine did???If you buy one of these watch to see if, when initially plugged in, it comes on, or, goes all the way on with the online icon lit like mine did.I do wish the instruction where more clear and said:To turn unit on, Push/hold center on/off button, hear short beep and see the online icon come on confirming the unit is now "ON". all in once sentence just like that.Next: To turn unit off push/hold center on/off button here short beep and the online icon will go off confirming the unit is now "OFF"----------------------------------------Second gripe: Dimensions stated in the amazon description are WRONG as of august 2022 when I purchased my unit.Hopefully some one at TRIPP LITE will read this or an amazon person will see this and fix it.Amazon description says: Item Dimensions LxWxH 19.29 x 9 x 11 inches. Upon further research I found this is the unit "box" dimensions.Actual dimensions as stated in the PDF info page: UPS Power Module Dimensions (hwd, in.) 8 x 5.75 x 15.6 - this was confirmed by me with a tape measure. When I measured the actual unit I thought I was cheated and sent a smaller unit so I began checking. The box it came in, and, it did indeed say unit size: 8 x 5.75 x 15.6. also, box did show correct part number for what I ordered.Online research did confirm, yes, 8 x 5.75 x 15.6 are the actual unit dimensions.---I clicked on the report incorrect product information link, nothing happens, no way to report this dimensional "disinformation".So off to a some what confusing and rocky start with this unit. Really hope things do not go "down hill" from here.I will report back later with updates if needed.Note: I have extensive IT and UPS experience. I have been using these things since the mid 1990's and have bought a lot of them, mostly APC brand. I have had them go bad quickly and others last literally for ever with many battery replacements.I am hoping to have a good experience with the Tripp lite brand. Aside from the confusing instructions I can not fault the unit at all so far. Though just unpacked it and plugged it in....

Honor their Word
Tripplite is awesome. I have been twice hit by lightning (Florida) and both times they have not only replaced all their devices and/or upgraded them promptly and without argument, but also sent me checks to cover all devices plugged in as per their promised insurance meaning, to date, I have been given far more than they cost. For this reason, I have everything in the house connected to their devices. Our power fluctuates, these devices handle that issue and serve as great backups when needed. The woman I worked with there Yvonne was there for the first strike, gave me her personal contact number and helped me with the second strike as well. If you are having issues, give their support a try - somewhere there hopefully are still the same great values that helped me.

First was bum, easy seller contact
The first unit I was sent was broken. No power when plugged in. I did some research and people talked about messing with the power plug components. I didn't want to void the warranty, so just contacted the seller.Got a simple print label for the return and they gave me a refund within a day or two.The second one that came works well and haven't had any issues. I'd like for my power to stay on, but it is less concerning to use electronics while the trees sway 15' each way.
