These are beautifully written, engaging, poignant, mystical, and concise stories of Saints. I just received it, and I read Polycarp, Perpetua & Felicity, and Cecilia with my 6-year-old tonight; and she was begging for more. So far, these are some of the best tellings of these stories that I’ve encountered. I myself am in awe. The illustrator is also amazing. The images are so beautiful, symbolic, and mystical. This book is so amazing that I’m already ordering more; one as a backup for myself to keep in mint condition, and another one for my mom. I highly recommend you acquire this gorgeous book right away.

The media could not be loaded. I love it! I am so happy with my purchase! The illustrations are vibrant and compelling, they absolutely draw you into the life of the saints. Most of the saints featured are well known ones, and the stories given brief and engaging and include a brief bio of where they are from, their dates, and their patronage. Each entry is written in story form. I think either adults or children would enjoy this. The print is large and easy yo read.

Great First Communion gift has high quality paper with beautiful illustrations for each story. Stories of saints are listed in chronological order. Our 8-year-old nephew loves it.

I've worked in the Church most of my life and have seen countless books about the saints. This one is a tremendous upgrade! Just bought my fourth copy- I've donated it to my children's Catholic school classrooms, and every teacher has been blown away! The kids are eager to read these compelling stories about heroes of our faith. My kids keep a copy in the car and re-read their favorites daily. It goes well beyond the basics... Jude, Joseph, Therese... to include many saints even I wasn't familiar with. Yes, the pictures are not your classic style. They are vibrant and dynamic. This isn't your grandma's Lives of the Saints! If you want to get kids excited about their faith, get them this book!

I purchased this once to put in a basket I made with Tiny Saints and mini saint blocks. I was so pleased with how nice of the book it was that I ordered it for my grandson on his birthday. The pictures are beautiful and stories are well written. He loves the book.

A wonderful book with narratives that retell the lives of people who in the midst of the joys, trials, and challenges of life, gave themselves fully to Jesus. These stories are solidly grounded in other more traditional narratives of these saints. The amazing things that took place in their lives could easily be mistaken for myth, but they were "merely" following what Jesus Himself did (e.g., Acts 2, Matthew 8, Luke 4:40, Mark 5, Mark 6:56), responding to the Father's love in the Holy Spirit, plus we see more and more of Our Lord working in similar amazing ways *today* - a clear case of the more sin abounds, the more grace abounds. Reading the lives of the saints - brothers and sisters in Christ who have gone before us - and seeing the myriad ways God continues to work in our lives is very inspiring. The artwork is not of the Renaissance style, but rendered in a way that is in context and targeted at a modern audience, and in this sense, is splendidly illustrated. Well done! A book to keep readily on the bookshelf.

I found this to be a wonderful book to learn about a wide variety of saints. Very helpful for children to learn about these models of the faith. I do think that they could have put in more of younger saints to inspire our children. I was disappointed that they did not write about the 14 y.o. martyr, San Jose Sanchez del Rio, who died in Mexico during the suppression of the faith in the 1920's.

This book exceeded my expectations. It’s beautiful! My grandson it really gonna enjoy reading it.
