Easy to pack Quirkle set
Quirkle is a great game for the whole family. Quirkle is a very nice combination of strategy and luck, and it is very easy to learn how to play. The rules are simple, the package states six and up. In our experience, our ten-year-old grandchildren love it, but the younger ones have trouble with it. Our adult children as well as our friends enjoy playing it with us when they come to visit. We decided that we were going to pack Quirkle for our next road trip or cruise, so I looked around for a travel size to save a little space. The travel size game pieces are roughly half the size of the regular squares, and the travel bag is only half full when all of the pieces in it so it will easily compress to half the volume you see in the photo. The full-size bag and pieces could travel but that bag is full when all of the pieces are in it, and it isn't getting any smaller. On the road, the travel size has other advantages: It takes a LOT less table space to play a game. It is also easy to keep all six of your game pieces in your hand and play from there vs. lining them up on a surface. As the bag is only half full with all of the pieces in it, you can mix them up very easily.

LOVE IT - Super fun game not matter what your age is. Travel version great size.
My 8 year old granddaughter got this game for her birthday and was initially upset. Said it was a "baby's game". Well we all played it and got hooked, including her. All the adults got one and we continue to play it. The travel set is awesome because - well - it travels well, does everything the larger boxed version does, and is actually easier to play because it takes up less room on the table. Because of that, I would recommend the travel version over the boxed version if you are not going to play it at the dining room table. Travel size better for a coffee table and it keeps the pieces in a handy cloth bag. So what is this game? There really is strategy in this game, and of the type that young and old can play together. Its a sort of dominos meets chess mentality in terms of blocking other peoples moves, with a bit of a scrabble type feel only is uses symbols instead of letters. They are a number of ways to come up with a set that can be put down on the table. Points are scored in terms of number of tiles laid down and for complexity such if something goes more than one direction, like Scrabble. Can be learned in minutes, played for hours, and we are all hooked. Granddaughter does not think it is a "baby game" any longer. I got some for adults a gifts. Great cross-generational anyone can play strategic game!!!

The best!
We played this on our beach vacation and it's my favorite new game. While it's a relatively easy and simple game, it was fun for all ages. My 6, 8 year olds and also 10 year old niece loved it, but my husband and I enjoyed playing against each other as well. We liked that it took some strategy but was easy to play while just chilling as well. It's my new favorite vacation game, replacing War. The travel bag is really nice too and the perfect way to store your pieces.

I absolutely LOVE this game
I absolutely LOVE this game! It's great for kids at a 1-3 grade level and up because it deals with patters of both shape and color. Some kids that are A.D.H.D. may have some issues with focusing long enough and hard enough to catch tricky and hard to spot combinations, but when push comes to shove, this is a great game for most average kids. My son is a diagnosed A.D.H.D. 7 1/2 year old, so we play on teams and help both our 4 year old and him to keep the game going. As an adult my husband and I play this game for date night along with others such as Takenoko and Ticket to Ride Carcassone and the like. It's a great deviation from the "normal" games! I would say this version is also great for on the go vs the larger board game version. It is HIGHLY convenient and can fit into my medium sized purse. The zip up black pouch functions as a holder for the tiles during game play as well, so there's no big pile of tiles in the middle of the table (think BanannaGrams) and can be more "presentable" during that boring waiting period while your meal is being prepared. I've had numerous waitstaff come and ask what we're playing!Overall, good game, great quality, and bargain for your buck! Qwirkle is a MUST have for your gaming collection! Happy Gaming!

One of my favorite game
I would play this game with my college friend and professors. I would bring the game with me everywhere to play in restaurant and coffee shop, because of how portable it is. This game connect me with people that I am still close with today. After 4 years of owning the game. I still consider as my top favorite game. The rule is easy to learn, and you can play it competitively or casually, it’s also very relaxing. The only thing I would suggest is including a note pad and pen because I have to keep one in the bad to keep track of score. And also using different because red and orange are very hard to distinguish. But if you’re not color blind then you would have an amazing time.

Perfect size, fun!
We played this for the first time today. We used my raised scrabble board to keep the tiles lined up because they kept getting jostled out of place (playing with a 7 year old with a 3 year old flitting around). The rules are simple enough. The bag is surprisingly small but just the right size for all the tiles. All my tiles were complete (none stuck together, no missing paint). They came packaged in a little brick of tiles with cardboard strip and strip of tissue paper in between each layer of tiles (I assume to keep them from sticking together). There is a direction sheet included. Overall, very happy.

What's Not to Love?
Do you like Quirkle? Do you like playing games when you travel? Then, this is a no-brainer. Just get it. It's super tiny, comes with a cute little bag, nice solid pieces. I mean... it's a great little travel game. We LOVE playing Quirkle, so this has never left my travel suitcase.
