They don't like it in UK = great
One time we traveled to Scotland on vacation, and by accident I had this knife in my luggage. On the way back, it was caught by security at the airport in Edinburgh. The 'security lady' made me open it, and upon it being opened, looked upon it very, very disapprovingly. "What's this for?" she asked. I wanted to reply along the lines of, "You don't know what a knife is?", but instead replied with something vague like "I use it for cutting open bags of mulch for gardening, or de-ticking our dogs." (Both of which are true.) Sadly, my knife was confiscated, and I felt very, very bad for violating, apparently, UK law on folding, lockable knives. I also felt bad that they lack the freedoms of any sensible society relative to things as innocuous as small, if sharp, pocketknives.Anyway, this knife is great. And yes, it does work well for de-ticking dogs, since the end is pointy and can maneuver through fur easily. (Obviously, be careful not to stab your dog!!!) Also, I like the serrated portion for cutting through rope when I have to escape from airport security. :)

Worth It!
I love this knife. Its best point is the assisted opening works really well. It is light weight and reliable for EDC. It came nice and sharp. The lockup is strong and feels reliable and the whole knife seems durable. I like the 14C28N steel characteristics, but, for about the same money, I prefer Nitro-V. I would prefer more handle, but I gladly accept this as a compromise to weight.I appreciate the black clip because I deep carry in my boot. The blade has done all matter of cutting and sawing tasks without complaint. I have used it a decent amount without feeling the need to resharpen it. But, it is not shaving sharp as it is. It could easily be made so, though. If you opt for the partially serrated blade option, keep in mind that slicing is a little harder with half of the blade, and that the serrated part requires a vise and specialized files to sharpen. If you don't *need* it, consider the non-serrated version. In general, Kershaw is quality, and this is no exception.

It'll gut ya buck
So there I was. Opening day of deer season 2018. Now my buddy had never been deer hunting so I obliged to give up my day to take him out so he could get his first buck. It was a warm October day and as the sun rose across 640 acres of Gods country we quickly realized buck or not it was sure better than being at work. Not 2 hours into the day a large herd crested the horizon heading our way... so we settled in. A big ol chonk of a deer stood out from the heard. A large open valley stood between us and dinner. We decided to take our chances on the long 600+ yard shot. Now i know all you tuff guy dead eye probably killed Bin Laden guys are reading this thinking "Ha I 600 yards? once I shot a deer in Idaho once...from texas" and good on you. But like I said this was my buddies first hunt as he was a duck hunter by trade. Using his his grandpas .270 with a 9X scope that looked like a pencil sitting on top of his gun lined up his shot. I whispered him through his shot. "Breathe in..pull the trigger straight back..nice and smooth" as I peered through my binoculars. CRACK. His first shot buried itself into the earth. But this was opening day..these deer had been on a peaceful vacation all year and were slower to spook and faster to keep eating. "Just a touch high and to the right...wait for him to stop again and drop your aim just a hair and hes yours" I whispered. CRACK. A puff of red and the deer fell where it stood motionless. We couldn't believe it. Instant adrenaline filled our veins as we ran down to our kill. Huffing and puffing we stood over a beautiful beast shot clean through and through, killed almost instantly. Now As I said before this was my buddies first time out but he assured me he had all the proper equipment for this hunt. With that knowledge I had nothing more in my pack but some snacks a bottle of Gatorade a fresh pouch of chew and a Kershaw Leek in my pocket. He on the other hand dawned a large backpack certain to be stuffed with everything but the kitchen sink. "Well get to cutting ill walk you through it". "Cutting?" he questioned. My heart sank. "I thought we would just carry him out". My mouth dropped. This was no little white tail..this was a beefed up sage and corn fed Mule deer. I realized that his backpack did in fact have a kitchen sink in it but was shy of the tools needed to gut our deer. I couldn't believe it..we were about to gut a deer with a pocket knife. But hey this wasn't just any pocket knife. this was my trusty Kershaw Leek that had flawlessly vanquished the tape of many boxes. So..we went to work. it wasn't pretty it was perfect but on that day a 3" Kershaw pocket knife gutted a near 200lb beast of a deer. So yeah..chances are you wont find yourself in my situation..but if you do I PERSONALLY guarantee this little knife will get the job done. To this day the knife still sticks just a touch on opening from all the ...deer stuff, but I wont leave home without it!
