Riedel Vinum Single Malt Whiskey Glass, Set of 4

These glasses have been worth every penny. I bought these glasses to complement my scotch collection and they have proven their worth again and again. The experience is enhanced on all levels. They are well-formed and pleasing to the eye, they feel good in your hand, they channel the aromas from the scotch to your nose so you can really capture the essence of the whiskey in its smell. The fluted rim provides a great drinking experience. These glasses were recommended to me by a friend and I happily pass along the recommendation to you. Overall: wonderful.

Riedel made these for scotch but they are in fact excellent for many other spirits. A primary and very noticeable effect is that compared to a more narrow entry, bulbous bottom shape like a snifter, they disperse alcohol fumes that, to me, just interfere with enjoying a high quality spirit. My personal choices there are not scotch (which always reminds me of good whiskey that got contaminated) but long barrel aged cane rums and brandies of close to XO or better. Glass works very nicely for both.Serious wine and spirits tasters should have an assortment of the Riedel shapes or similar types. Often a wine or spirit will show best in a shape that might not be the intuitive or labeled first pick and some experimentation may be useful. At tastings where items are compared on a 100 pt scale (been to several) use of the appropriate Riedel glass is worth about 2 pts on average- despite the price a very cost effective way to get the most from a wine or spirits purchase

Durable crystal glasses that are perfect for sipping whiskey.

I purchased these to give as a gift, but the 4 pack boxing was too dreadful to give without total repackaging, even if beautifully wrapped. Repackaging glassware is not done without effort. Probably not a problem if you are sending directly. Glasses are lovely.

The Riedel Vinum glass for single malt scotch is handsome and well made, although this version is not "hand made." It is as advertised and perfect for enjoying single malt scotches. The fluted lip allows the scotch to spread over a wider range on your pallete as you bring the glass over your lips. For anyone who enjoys single malt scotches, this is a must have item.
