Beautiful slim laptop
First off, This review is just an initial review. I received this laptop in the mail yesterday. My first impression before I even turned it on:My old laptop is an Asus 15.6, approximately 3 years old. This MSI prestige 14 inch laptop is much slimmer and the overall size was very noticeable. A big reason for the differences besides the size of the screens, my old laptop screen has about 1 inch width around the entire screen making the entire size of the laptop larger. On the MSI the screen is so close to edge of the laptop so the overall size is a lot smaller. The laptop looks just as nice in person as it does on the photos Amazon included. The MSI laptop came with the laptop, a thunderbolt charging cord, a multi-port hub, and a MSI laptop sleeve. The photo I loaded of the sleeve isn’t my photo but it looks just like that.Once I opened everything up, I plugged the laptop in and started initial setup. The setup only took about 10 minutes to do. Since this laptop is not the newest version (the most recent information on my laptop was 1 year old) I was required to do a update on the computer. The update took approximately 15-20 minutes to do. Once everything was completed and I was able to get onto the device to add my preferences everything seemed to work great. I love the lite up keyboard. The fingerprint login works great, I did not decide to add face recognition but it is available to add if wanted. Today I had a 3 hour zoom call I had to join. The webcam works great and the quality is a lot better than my old Asus webcam. The audio on the zoom was very good also. The true 4K uhd display is notably better than my Asus I had. As of now I am very happy with this laptop.Overall opinion i this I a nice laptop. If you’re looking for a light weight laptop that will handle most things you bring at it this is probably a laptop you should consider. My one disappointment with the laptop, which is one I knew about buying it was the size of the ssd; I had hoped to get 1tb ssd. I will likely have a computer technician change the 512GB SSD to a 1TB SSD.I will provide an updated review later if needed.

Mala calidad
A los 3 meses de uso el soporte de la pantalla se quebró, provocando que cada vez que levantas la pantalla se mueva el plástico que va por debajo del laptop

My 2nd MSI to have the hinges break
I really liked the sleek look of this laptop and that I could order it in white. I thought MSI was a good gaming laptop which I need for graphics for my architecture programs and I like to play sims. However I’ve had 2 MSIs and both laptops had the hinges break after only light use. I’ve called around and everyone has said they can’t fix it or can’t fix it for a decent price compared to what the laptop cost. My first MSI had crashed when installing windows 10 and became unusable which is a shame because I had so much RAM and storage space left to utilize. This second MSI that I currently have has started to lag significantly and I don’t understand why because I’m not even using half of the storage or RAM. I’m disappointed and don’t see myself buying more MSIs. They’re expensive and supposed to be worth the buck but I’ve been through two and been disappointed.

flimsy
the hinge screws are attached by plastic and will break even if you have not damaged it...

poor construction
plastic hinges will break with regular use, costs $300 to replace

Really nice, but not as smooth as the specs seem to imply
I really want to like this laptop since it has some great features like Windows Hello, the screen is beautiful, and the laptop itself just looks really nice. But even with performance mode cranked up, even standard web browsing isn't as smooth as I expected. (I'm guessing that's a cpu problem since Fusion 360 was running smoothly.) RAM was DDR3, not DDR4 like it says in the description, but I did some research and it looks like there's no big difference in speed so it's no big deal. Battery life could be better, and I might swap it for the 15.6" version for that reason (and a few other reasons). It also comes with a laptop sleeve which was nice, but it's a bit of a struggle to get it to fit. And the ethernet/usb/SD/TF hub was a nice plus too.
