Useful information.

Shouldn’t be without one
Although I think the comprehensive coverage is not what it used to be, missing some important points and torque values. I still think it’s well worth having.

It's the book for confident readers.
Modern cars require a good general knowledge of electrical and mechanical functions. Hopefully this book will go some way towards helping with those tasks.

Essential reading for a new (used) mini, owner.
Received with thanks, as a Christmas gift, the recipient was pleased and said it would be useful.

A bit oversimplified
Used quite a few Haynes manuals in the past and always been very happy. However this one seems to skim over a lot and I’ve found quite a few tasks much more difficult than they appear, mainly because it does not detail how to remove plastic parts without breaking them. Many times it will say “just remove this”, but that involves unclipping many plastic parts that are very fiddly and time consuming, especially without guidance. I have also found a couple of steps and parts on my car missing from the manual. Not sure if this is just down to variations between different models, but mine is one of those supposedly covered. Other than that, all mechanical jobs seem well documented, so still worth it

Should be more comprehensive
I had hoped Haynes would’ve moved into better quality photos including colour .If you have a fair bit of good DIY experience you probably just need torque settings as it’s not very comprehensive. Beginners I fear will get lost in translation . Up your game Haynes and produce something that’s not back from the 80s.
