Q: What is the shrinkage if washing at 40 degrees?

Sorry haven't washed mine yet, but would have thought , due to type of material, there would not be any shrinkage at all

Still looks good as lining for our all round conservatory windows - not too heavy. Would think it should fold ok for Roman Blinds. Best of luck with them.

It's opaque, but doesn't cut the light out completely. It might be to do with the fact my curtains were white. But it does have some effect if that is what you are using for.

Q: Would this fabric be soft enough for backing on patchwork quilts?

I would think this would be suitable for what you want. It is very smooth fabric and quite light so it should work ok for you.
