I’M UPPING MY COOKING GAME AND SAW THESE AT A HIGH END KNIFE STORE. Trying to reduce the amount of plastic in my kitchen particular ones that touch my food. Historically, I’ve always peeled carrots, but with a brush like this, I’m able to scrape the surface of the carrot. The peeling is not necessary. You can also scrub other vegetable vegetables or fruits, although it’s a little abrasive for something like mushrooms. These have held up well so far no rust and the bristles have stayed intact even when scrubbing a daikon or carrot.

I’ve been using these for years. Perfect for scrubbing veggies or for plastic or stoneware dishes. They last forever.

I bought these because they were recommended to replace sponges for cleaning dishes (Epicurious mag). I don't think they are particularly good for that. However, they are great vegetable cleaning brushes - something that Covid19 makes more important than previously. The review here asked me to rate them for thickness, easy to hold, ergonomic - none of these make any sense to me. They are good for scrubbing vegetables. They have no handle, so you grab the bristles on one side and scrub veggies on the other side. The bristles are a good degree of stiffness. They are soft enough to clean well and hard enough I don't tend to push them into the vegetable with too much pressure. The bristles have not tended to break or shed so far (about a month of use). I love the little ring that allows me to hang them (using a shower hook, on a line over my sink, so they can dry. Glad I bought them, but I wonder what the people at Epicurious were smoking when they recommended these for dishes!

Not Stainless Steel, description is wrong. The metal used in these brushes is just normal magnetic steel that will rust in a wet environment. I took a picture of a fridge magnet stuck to the end of the brush. If you want a brush that uses stainless steel or a food grade metal in its construction than this is unfortunately not the product for you. I hope that the listing is revised to correct the false claim of using stainless steel.EDIT Updated to 4 Stars, I have been used these brushes extensively for washing vegetables and they are fantastic. Even though they are not stainless steel but they are a great product, perfect for cleaning carrots, potatoes, radishes etc... the bristles could benefit from being slightly stiffer but they do a very good job as is. I will purchase these again and I recommend them to anyone in need of a vegetable scrubber.

I've been using these veggie brushes for 50 years. The bristles are mildly abrasive, and will take the skin off a carrot...so no peeling required. Best brush I have ever used, and not made of plastic. Durable...they will last for years (still using one that has lasted 4 and counting). Highly recommend.

I feel like it works great. It doesn’t get dirty or smelly. It dries of easily.

Great brushes. They fit your hand, so it's easy to scrub your veggies. Toss it in the drain board, and it dries quickly. I have been using one brush for months, and there is no sign of wear/lost bristles. My carrots gleam, so no peeling needed. This is a good addition to the kitchen.
