Heartwarming that this book is still in print!
I was given a copy of the Golden Treasury when I was a teenager by my Irish Nana. I still have it, but since it is a 1930's copy, I do not handle it much. Much to my pleasure, I found that this lovely book is still in print. The cover is very nice, the gilding on the edge of the pages are well done and the font is dark and bold, though a bit small. I look forward to enjoying the verse contained within these pages for many years to come!

A Much Loved Collection from my childhood!
I fell in love with my mother's ragged copy of this book. She was born in 1926 in New Zealand & passed away in 2005 and her much read/loved (by her and me) book was gone years ago. I bought a copy of Palgrave's after searching on Amazon for "Palgrave's Poetry Collection" and there it was!! Same small book with a blue cover that I knew from my younger years (I live in the USA now). I will be 65 in October '22 & I have a new copy of this wonderful collection of poetry. I hope you will love it as well.

Beautiful little book.
This is the same size as the other Macmillan Collector's Library books, a nicely made pocket sized hardback. The publisher elected to release this book naked, no jacket. That beautiful, dark glowing blue is the linen cover of the book. It has crisp gold stamping. The endpapers are a soft shimmering bronze color in the same oak leaves pattern as Macmillan's regular collectors editions. This is a beautiful jewellike edition of a classic. It's perfect for carrying along on vacation which I plan on doing. I made a transparent dust jacket for it so the beautiful cover doesn't get dirty.

The advice in this book is what I have told all my children and grandchildren.
When this advice comes from such a brilliant and experienced leader as the author it truly packs a very meaningful punch.

Make sure you get the correct Kindle version!
5 stars for Palgrave, and 0 stars for Amazon Kindle. If you want to purchase the Kindle version corresponding to the hardback Macmillan Collector’s Library edition with a foreword by Carol Ann Duffy with a blue background and golden oak leaves, DO NOT simply click on the Kindle link on the hardback page. It took me to a Kindle version with coins on the cover. This is NOT the Macmillan version. Not only do I think it is a later edition of Palgrave's than the Mac version (I think Mac is the original), but it does not have a Table of Contents linking to each poem nor does it have the indices to the writers and the first lines of each poem. I learned this the hard way! I had to go to Francis Turner Palgrave in the Kindle Store to find it amidst the other Kindle versions. I've seen Amazon do this before, but I was caught this time. I recommend always checking the covers of print and Kindle versions to make sure they match. I've also found that reviews are not sorted according to the version. When you review in the future, please identify the version you have. I hope this link takes you to the Mac version!https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CLP9RB3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_o01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Tiny Print, Terrible Layout
I had a copy of Palgrave's Golden Treasury many years ago and enjoyed it very much, so I ordered this new paperback edition. I'm very disappointed with this edition from Okitoks Press–not with the poetry itself. To reduce the page count and their costs, the publisher used tiny print and did not lay out the poems as they would have been laid out originally, but often combined lines that originally would have been on separate lines. In short, they lay out the poems almost as if they were prose, and this reduces readability.

This was very inexpensive. not the updated.
This is the earlier version from the 1860's?It doesn't have the other 20th century poems in my very old copy.I bought it because I thought it'd be nice to have on Kindle.Haven't looked at it much at all.

Childhood Reflections
I first became acquainted with Palgrave's Poetry while ayoung student in South Wales,England, during WW11. The proof that it had a deep influence on me has been my life-long interest and love for English and EnglishLiterature. At the age of 80 I can still repeat word for word and line upon line those pieces of poetrythat captivated my mind and heart in my teen age years.
