Excellent
This 7th Edition is very good.I previously had the 5th Edition Paperback so can't compare with the 6th Edition. That was my second copy, I don't remember if my first copy bought in 1996 was 4th or 5th Edition. I loved that book. It's not just rebound with another forward but from all the sections I have read the book has thoroughly been gone through. The formatting change alone would make it worth it, but there are man additional plates and it looks like all the diagrams have been redone. This is the only book you need if you want to learn and practice Golden Dawn. If wading into it alone is too overwhelming, try http://www.golden-dawn.com/ Instructions are given in the forward of how to approach the book, so if your new to Golden Dawn, actually read the forwards and Prefaces as they contain the instructions as to how best use the information in the rest of the book.

brick
It is that it is. Chances are that you have an idea as to the contents of this text if you are reading this review, so I'll keep the summary short; big brick of a book, lots of ritual & symbolism related to Golden Dawn ceremonial magick, useful as a reference book for study & self-initiation. idk i like the heavy tome

Hard work yields positive manifestation
Before you begin this tome, purchase a companion book known as a 'dictionary'. Although this edition is edited to be easier for those of us that find comfort in words with less than eight letters in them, the true flavor of Israel Regardie's grasp of the English language is quite evident on each page; but don't let that dissuade you from owning this truly magnificent work. Work being the operative word here, beginning with looking up those words your not familiar with, to the repetitive, and exacting formulae of perfecting the magick you will learn to use as described within it's pages, The Golden Dawn: The Original Account of the Teachings, Rites, and Ceremonies of the Hermetic Order (7th Ed.) will, if the practitioner applies him/her self with true feelings and diligent purpose, reward with positive manifestation. It could take weeks to quickly read and leaf through and then go back and begin the true referencing, note-taking, practicing, and learning the work which could ultimately take years to grasp (master?), but then, if it wasn't hard work, it wouldn't work at all. I am thoroughly enjoying the read, and marveling at what I am learning.

Book seems to be well-thought and vividly detailed. Not my path, so take with a grain of salt!
As stated. If esoterism is your cup of tea, then this seems to be a good "path to self-initiation and into the deepest mysteries of the cosmos, as laid out by the Great Architect".But hey, if everything is a "simulation" within a "matrix/dome", and there is "nothing new under the sun"..

This book very packed full of information, this is a very thick book. Just started reading it after I fast read through each book/chapter. I paid a bit more than I would have liked but, its finally in my library.
