Nice school shoes. Love the wide width option.
Nice sturdy school shoe. I love that they come in wide with for my kids so their toes aren’t squished all day. Very durable shoes.

They fit and are excellent!
After ordering our way through three or four size-up, bigger and bigger shoes from Hush Puppies that were beautiful, but just didn't fit my daughter, we tried these out of desperation. Now mind you, by the time I purchased these, we were desperate and I had her feet measured at a local shop in the mall - but my daughter didn't like their shoes. Face palm. It was a nightmare that ended suddenly on the SUNDAY these arrived with no extra postage cost to me. We needed these by Tuesday for chapel at her new school and they were everything we'd been hoping for. Stylish stitching design, wide toe box, straps wide enough to fit my daughter's cute little chunky foot and high quality, soft leather. That was back in the beginning of August, and my daughter has nearly worn these every single day - she calls them her "dancing shoes", and refuses to wear her sneakers. I've had to polish them several times, because my daughter is convinced she needs to see the world from her tippy toes, but these shoes have held up nicely so far. Worth every single penny.

Uniform shoes for 6 months and they're still going strong!
Bought two of these for my daughter's uniform and they've both held up after 6 months! Looks like they'll last through the end of this school year. (Which is unheard of with the cheapo shoes!) In fact, I've already bought another pair (one size up) in preparation for next year.+ I love that they have wide widths. That's rare in children's shoes.+ The velcro makes it very easy to take on/off+ The rubber sole on this shoe is really great. Doesn't mark up the walls. It's not too hard but also has enough cushioning.+ Sole has grip and has held up. Don't get me wrong, it is worn after 6 months, but it still has the grooves and still grips. It also wore down evenly, but that might be more a function of the way my daughter walks than the shoe itself.+ Finally the best part of it is the leather! It has held up so well. Sure, it's a bit scruffed up, but that's expected. It hasn't peeled...that's the important piece. The leather is great quality. Plus it's leather inside and out. Leather is also much more breathable than synthetic fabric. My daughter's hands and feet sweat a lot. With this shoe, her feet are able to breathe in the leather even if it's sweaty.+ Bonus: insole leather is still brand new. That just speaks to the quality. We've even thrown these into the wash and dryer and they are still in great condition. If your kids wear a uniform or the same shoe to school every day, it's important that they get enough cushioning and breathability in the shoe. I would recommend getting two to alternate so that each shoe has a day to air out. That helps to prevent stinky shoe issues. Length and width were perfect for her. But if you're unsure, just buy a few sizes and widths and return the ones that don't fit.

Great Shoes for Little Feet
The media could not be loaded. These shoes are perfect for toddlers with growing feet. I bought this pair six months ago, and the soles have held up excellently. This is my sencond purchase of the same shoe different color. They're the perfect size, not too narrow for my toddler's slightly wide feet. The velcro closure has remained strong over time. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the inside of the shoes has started to come apart a bit, although it doesn't affect their functionality. Additionally, there are some scuff marks on the tips from playing hard, but that's to be expected.

Excellent shoes!
Great Quality! Fit as they should, comfy. And she can easily fasten. Look good for school, and dressy too. Versatile.4/1/2016 Worn almost daily to school, and are also worn as play shoes. She wears them all the time because they don't hurt her feet. As to wear, the soles are intact, no significant wear. The tops look good after a coat of black shoe polish, from time to time, the velcro just needs spiffing up - I use a pin to de-fuzz. These have a good year left in them, but are outgrown, that's why the addendum, I am on here as I just now bought a new pair.

Are these even legit Stride Rite?
I have bought these Mary Jane shoes for the last several years to go with school uniforms and never had an issue until this last order. The shoes have always been sturdy to the touch and durable - the only reason I need to get a new pair is because my daughter outgrows them. (Caveat: We do alternate with a pair of all-black sneakers throughout the school year.)This time around, however, the shoes seem flimsy and of much inferior quality. At first I considered that the quality is just not the same, as is the case with a lot of stuff today. But now I'm wondering if these are even authentic Stride Rite shoes. The reason I say this is because the shoebox and packaging inside did not match shoes. Not only was the shoe box too large for the actual shoes, it was a generic box with no indication of the Stride Rite brand. To make matters worse, the shoes on the inside did not appear to be new or at the very least looked like it was a return that someone haphazardly threw together in a men's shoebox. As I already mentioned, I purchase these shoes every year and they have always arrived in the properly branded box and packaged as new shoes are normally packaged. I have re-ordered these directly from Stride Rite and will update my review along with some comparison pictures to determine whether they are the same product or not.*Update: Buyer beware. These shoes are most definitely defective at best. I have added some photos to illustrate the differences in the packaging and the actual shoes. The shoes purchased on Amazon are on the left with the ones purchased from Stride Rite on the right. I have no idea where they're sourcing their merchandise from, but this is not a $25 shoe, much less $45. I am returning the ones from Amazon first thing tomorrow.
