British Berkefeld Doulton ¦ W9121200 ¦ 7" Super Sterasyl ¦ Authentic Gravity Drinking Water Ceramic Replacement Candle Element Filter ¦ 8374 ¦ White

I bought a Big Berkey 12 mos ago and loved it, the black filters are the bomb and I was super happy with it for the 4 mos I used it. In May 2019 I was moving and had to put the Berkey in storage so I took it all apart, dried out the filters, placed them inside the Berkey with bubble wrap to protect them and stored it for 7 mos. When I went to put it together again, one of the stems of the black filters was broken where it inserts into the Berkey, half the stem completely snapped off when I unscrewed the nut. Unfortunately, I hadn't saved the email with the receipt info and cannot for the life of me remeber where online I bought it so the "warranty" for the filters was useless. I was really disappointed and didn't have $120 to spend on 2 new black filters, as they are only sold in sets, nor did I have an extra plug to cover the hole where the filter goes so I couldn't even use my Berkey at all for about a month. I found these filters here on Amazon and the reviews and price sold me so I figured I'd give them a try, so far so good. They fit perfectly into my Berkey and although I cannot attach my Berkey fluoride filters to them like I can the black filters, I'm very happy to have my Berkey back up and running. I haven't done any testing on the water itself but I'm using these 2 filters with my other black filter and the water tastes great. The flow is as fast as with the black filters too. I'm fully satisfied and highly recommend them though I would purchase the black filters if I could afford to.

According to the fairytale the city's water treatment plant puts out every year, our tap water meets minimum Federal standards (which must be ludicrously low, if that's actually the case). I used to buy those pitcher water filters and they made the water better than it was straight out of the tap, but it still looked and tasted disgusting. I bit the bullet and paid for bottled water to be delivered, because I got sick of not being able to drink my tap water. Finally, a friend of mine bought a Doulton ceramic counter top gravity filter and turned me on to using these ceramic Super Sterasyl filters. I will never go back to drinking disgusting water again!These Super Starasyl filters take my greenish-brown, smelly, dirty fishtank-smelling and chemical-tasting tap water and make it clear and downright pleasant to taste and I no longer get nauseated just from taking a sip of water. I've been using these for 8 years now and I can't praise them enough! I use the stainless steel gravity fed system, which sits on my kitchen counter, and just make sure to wipe the gunk off the outside of the filters every few months and replace the filters once every 12 to 16 months. This is much cheaper than delivered bottled water and it tastes far better, too. And don't even get me started on the expense and ecological nightmare of going through cases and cases of bottled water every month. Doulton's Super Sterasyl filters are the way to go! And they're also great for emergency preparedness, as the filters can handle filtering any fresh water source (but NOT salt/sea water), though I would run the water through coffee filters or some such to remove large debris and contaminants before putting into the gravity filtration system.

Great value for the money. I installed in a Aqua Rain system and it works well. The water doesn't tastenas "clear" as the water we purchase from machine-purified, carbon filtered, reverse-osmosis type kiosks, but it's super convenient. I also figure we are getting more minerals, too. I will defint buy again

After doing a lot of research on replacing our Berkey filters after 4 years, we settled on these. We wanted filters that had more 3rd party data on filtering ability and build quality. These have been GREAT. The water tastes great and passes the red-dye test without a problem. We think the water tastes better with these over the Berkey filters. Product arrived quickly and there was no need to prime these filters before installing. They did take a couple days to fully saturate and get up to full filtering speed. They filter slower than the Berkey black filters but that's not an issue for us. If you think they're not working at first, they are. Just give it a couple days until they're ready.

Worked exactly as intended. I used it to replace the filter in my alexapure since their filters are half the size of these and cost about 6 times as much. Works great! My house is on city water and I never really trusted it. You knew if they were working on a section if your water would come out the tap dirty and I started to think how often do i drink this water and it's just not as brown? Theres just a bit less mud in my water? Also compare the price to how many bottles of water you'd go through. No contest! Get the filter and track down a system to go with it!

After further research these filter out just about everything that a sawyer mini does . these will be great for emergency peeps ! glad I bought them to have just in case for my bucket berkey set up.they will last forever unused .they can be fragile only downside . otherwise a great option and peace of mind to have for emergency use! I’m gonna buy more one day to use everyday to really test them out but research shows they will filter everything sawyer does which allows you to drink from ponds, streams , rivers etcSo again great for preps!

Love these, made in UK! Yes ! Glorious it's not made in China.They filter very good and you can clean them. You can wash them several times before they need to be replaced.Just take a sponge and wipe down the outside and rinse off.
