Had it over 2 years
I’ve had this camera for 2 years and it’s worked mostly great! I’ve had some issues with it not giving me a motion notification so I usually just turn it off and back on in the app and it’s fine BUT I think that is an issue with my WIFI and Not the camera. I’ve used it mainly as security camera to see who’s going in my room when I’m not home it’s worked great for that, the night vision is usually good the first time I set up the cam night vision was great then I got a new WiFi box or something and after re setting it back up the night vision doesn’t really work as good but I believe it has something to do with the position or lighting, no a big deal for me really. Overall it’s a good camera the motion and person detection work well and the recording picture is clear and I believe you can adjust it more in the settings. Also the app is great I don’t recall ever having an issue, set up is pretty easy for the most part. Would recommend

Perfect for pet watching
Bought to cover a blind spot that my other Kasa security camera doesn’t cover. Inexpensive but high quality. Image quality is great and so is the two way audio. Set up was quick and the app is easy to navigate. Motion detection is super responsive. For the price, you can’t beat it.

Excellent value for money, can definitely take some abuse.
I originally bought these as a budget camera to put inside one of my rainforest terrariums. The form factor of these ones was perfect, especially compared to their outdoor variants. I didn't expect these to last more than a month or two.Pros====- They've been rained on multiple times per day (from the mister system), fallen into the water basin, fallen onto some rocks, caked in mud, scratched up by reptiles, and 5 months later are still are going strong. For a not rated for this kind of abuse, these far exceeded my expectations.- Excellent price per value. This is incredibly helpful when you need multiple cameras to capture different angles.- Pretty good night vision for the price. I've seen worse night vision systems on more expensive models.- Decent enough image quality for the price. It's not anywhere near perfect, contrast is a bit lackluster, but it's good enough that you can see what's going on most of the time.- Low heat output. These average around 83 F in my terrarium and I've never seen one get above 88 F.Cons====- The app can be finicky. Luckily, it's pretty easy and straightforward to get the cameras set up in the app. I've used cameras around this price point that fail even that first step. The camera app is generally just buggy. They do update the application often though, and sometimes those updates do seem to resolve some of the bugs. It's not nearly as solid as other camera apps though.- Motion Detection is extremely spotty. I maxed out the sensitivity on mine, did not use activity zones, and it still misses some events it should pick up. Sometimes, it will be accurate enough to pick up a small worm peaking out from under a leaf and wiggling around. Other times, it blatantly misses a large human opening the terrarium doors with their face filling the entire frame.- Auto night vision will sometimes stay in night vision permanently. I wish there was a setting to set the threshold for it changing back from night to day. If you have a shaded part of your house, it will never be bright enough to toggle back from night to day. Conclusion======It's like $25 (as of this writing) a camera and survives a decent amount of abuse. I have about 5-6 of them now for my terrariums and have yet to have one fail. Despite it's flaws, you can't go wrong for the price.

Great Camera with a nearly fatal flaw
For price/performance this is a tough camera to beat. The image quality is excellent and, so far, network connectivity has been solid. Night vision is solid but we found the motion detection to be hit and miss. We are playing around with the length and sensitivity settings so we might be able to tweak this in so it performs well. So what is the (near) fatal flaw? The microphone. To be fair the microphone is excellent. Like crazy excellent. As in we can hear ourselves clearly on the app from several rooms away excellent. While disconcerting that isn't the worst of it: you can't turn it off!!! You can set it not to record but you can't actually turn it off! Crazy! How is that acceptable on any level?Well, it is not so I covered it. It is very easy to find; it is the little hole on the front bottom left of the device. Personally I used a small silicone foot that I had laying around but I'm sure I could've used some tape and cotton (or something to baffle the sound). I only docked one star for this egregious fault because it was so easy to fix. To be clear I did quite a bit of searching on how to disable it through software but the support folks in the Kasa forums are quite adept at intentionally misunderstanding the questing and answering an adjacent question (No Ms. Solla-topee, nobody is asking about how turn off 'recording audio' -we want to SHUT IT OFF COMPLETELY....sorry about that).Anyway, the only other issue we had probably won't be a problem for other people which is the IR LEDs night vision are very (very) bright. We're using this camera to look out to our front walkway which means it is mounted in a window and when it goes into night vision mode we only see the reflection. I have a work around for that too and since, in standard uses, bright IR would be a good thing certainly didn't dock a star.Another bonus is that the cloud service is completely optional. We are using an SD card and just saving locally. Seems to work well. On a side note, there are three video resolutions available: WQHD (2560x1440) which they erroneously call 2K (2K is a digital cinema standard that is 2048 × 1080), 1080p/Full HD (1920x1080 as long they are following the standard), and 720p/HD (1280×720 as long as they are following the standard). If you have a laggy network, old phone, or a small SD card you should consider one of the lower resolutions.Overall I would recommend this unit so long as you:A. Don't care about the always on audio orB. Don't mind covering the microphone.

Very simple and portable camera
Definitely worth the money, and works fantastic. It is unable to move camera position remotely, (there are other Kasa cameras with that feature), so we use this as our portable baby monitor when we are on the go. It has night vision, and we can put a microSD card in it for recording. One thing I don't like about it is that it has no support for 5ghz Wifi band, only 2.4ghz.
