Poo Poo Bum Bum Wee Wee: A rhyming toilet training book

Fun, child friendly toileting book
Great book. The illustrations are lovely and realistic- they are of normal people (not cartoon animals or pirates) in normal bathrooms using normal toilets. There is no mention of toilet accidents which I also love. Instead it focuses on the main essence of toileting - poo poo, bum bums and wee wees, how we use toilet paper to clean and wash our hands afterwards. The repetition of the phrase “poo poo, bum bum, wee wee” gives a fun, sing song element to the book which children naturally chime in with.I also love that there’s not an overemphasis on pottys or colours of potty/pants etc. as the whole idea of “toilet training” is to enable children to use the toilet.

Potty training explained
As catchy as it was, I think this book was the last push for my son to become potty trained. He had started nearly a year before but had completely dismissed the idea, now over the age of 3 we were really keen to get him out of nappies over the summer. He enjoyed reading this book and understood the toilet was the next step.It has lovely illustrations, catchy words and rhythm. His dad and him were singing it. I wasn’t particularly keen but it did the job. Perfect for toddlers.

Hands down the best potty training book
I was looking for books that explained potty training to my son without being boring or too simple. We got a few like ‘no more nappies’ and ‘what is poo’ book but they didn’t hold my sons interest even though they had flaps to lift up. Then we found this one. It’s lovely, has bright pictures, makes it all very normal and shows both boys, girls, different ethnicities and abilities. And most importantly it’s catchy and keepps my sons interest. You also have to sing it, it rhymes throughout and it’s so much better if you sing it. We would read/sing this book even when it wasn’t potty time as wel as when he used the potty. And now six months on when he does a pee he always quotes ‘let the wee wee flow’ and when he has a particularly ‘difficult’ poo (his words 😂) he still asks for the book to distract him.He seems so scared of the potty when we started out and His reaction to not using it was so strong that I was worried he would get some sort of aversion to it. So I slowed down and tried to find books, shows, and things that were fun and no pressure. This book was a game changer! Will recommend to all my potty training mum friends!

Great toilet training book
This has fast become my grandsons bible as he learns to use the toilet. He sits on the potty reading it and it’s his favourite book. Beautifully illustrated with a catchy rhyme which he loves to join in. He like looking at all the kids using the toilet or potty in different ways..

Potty book
Such a fun set of rhymes all about those important bodily functions. Nice illustrations which prompted discussion about how everyone looks different but everybody wees and everybody poos.We need a follow up book about breaking wind as my little one has found potty training hilarious.
