A Well-Designed Grinder
I bought this grinder 11 months ago and I’m happy with it.PROS— AMOUNT OF COFFEE TO GRIND: It does the math for you. Tell it the number of cups and grind size and press the button. Additionally, you can alter any of the variables to suit your taste. Analogous to weighing your coffee and changing the weight.— CONSISTENCY: I find the grind size very consistent.— STATIC: None! The coffee flows across a small grounding device to remove the static charge. The device consists of a U-shaped piece of metal with 2 wires connecting the legs of the “U.” About 4 moths ago, static began to build up. I flipped the grinder on its side, cleaned the device with a small brush, and the static was gone.— PORTAFILTER HOLDER: It has a grind size for espresso, and a device to hold a portafilter, allowing the coffee to empty directly into it.— NEATNESS: No mess. I can’t think of a time when it left grounds on the counter after grinding.CONS— REMOVING THE BURR: To remove the burr for cleaning, you unscrew it using a wire hoop that loops above burr. The burr takes a lot of force to twist it, and the loop comes off because it wasn’t designed well. A real pain, but for me, not enough of a reason to buy a different brand.— TRANSPARENT HOPPER: I wish the hopper was shaded instead of clear. Coffee beans should be kept from light to be at their freshest, so I limit the amount of beans I add each time. I could cover it with a small towel, but it would lose some aesthetics.Note: The pricing is unusual. Don’t pay list price! Even on the Kitchen Aid website, it was $25 under list and it frequently goes on sale (I bought it on an Amazon Mother’s Day sale at 38% off list. Check back on any major holiday). Amazon usually sells it cheaper than the Kitchen Aid site.Would I buy it again? Yes. All in all, I think I made a good choice balancing functionality and price.

Excellent burr grinder
I have owned numerous coffee grinders over the last thirty years including the large KitchenAid burr grinder that I owned since 2016. It worked well but I never really loved it, it also was very noisy. The kitchen aid pictured that I just purchased is absolutely the best grinder I have ever owned. KitchenAid hit a home run with this grinder. It is so quiet you hardly hear it. The quietest coffee grinder I have ever owned and I’ve owned many different brands. It grinds to perfection and the price is beyond reasonable for such a great burr grinder. Even if you don’t need a new grinder I HIGHLY recommend you get this superb piece of equipment. It is truly fantastic.

Great prices! Easy to clean depending on your desired level...
I bought this to replace my cheap blade grinder to see if I could get better quality ground coffee. I didn't like buying ground coffee and losing out on the freshness factor. Also grinding coffee at the store always felt subject to getting mixed grounds as everyone was using it, and I had no idea when or if the store even cleaned out their grinder. Everyone said burr grinders were better than blade and I would agree now that I have one. The consistency of the ground is much better than a blade grinder. Having the hopper on top(while exposed to light and air)gives up on storing your coffee in airtight containers and out of light but since I make coffee every morning, its a small sacrifice I am willing to make. Others can still do this and then just measure out what you need in beans too, so you have options. Even though I am using the hopper I can still measure out my 32 grams of coffee based on programmable grind time. Different coffees require different grind times and being able to program a set grind time is great. Finding the adjustable dial in the middle of the grinder took a moment as it is not labeled well, but once discovered, made finding my consistent grind times easy. The container that holds the grinds is amply sized as well but the grinder's vertical build keeps the footprint on the counter small which is also great. The maker also says the container is designed to minimise the coffee grounds sticking to the container and I have found this to be true but only 99% which is better than my old blade grinder. Others have reported this feature to not really be the case, but what I have found is just wiping the small amount of excess grounds out of the container when done and then putting it back has maintained the (anti-static coating?) containers ability to not hold onto the grounds. Other users may have washed their container with soap and water which may have removed any ability for grounds to not stick to the container but I have no way of proving this and I don't intend to use soap and water on mine. I started with just paper towels, but I have since moved on to using a cloth I got from the eye doctor for my glasses. I just wipe down the inside of the container, shake out the cloth, and put it back in a plastic baggy. After weeks of use, my grounds still slide right out of the container and into my french press. As for cleaning, This is machine is very easy to take apart, the grinder comes right out, easy to wash and dry and put back in. But you will notice after taking it out, that excess coffee grounds have built up a little. The included brush is good for getting some of it out, but not great. This goes back to my store grinder comment, is the store really cleaning out their grinders? Probably not. This is where YMMV. I have taken to using the provided brush and a can of compressed air to get the excess grounds out. You of course have to do this over your sink carefully or outside which requires unplugging the machine unless you want to get coffee grounds everywhere. I do this about every two weeks once I run out of beans. Do you have to do this? No. Some may just remove the grinder, wash it, brush the excess grinds out and then call it a day. Again it's up to you, but again you have options so YMMV as I said. Overall, for the price versus other burr grinders I have seen, this one is well worth the purchase.

Best coffee grinder I've ever owned!
So pleased with this grinder. As other reviews have said, it's very quiet and very clean. My old grinder was loud and made a lot of dust that clung to the ground coffee hopper. The unit is large and solidly built. The controls are intuitive and the morning grind is no longer the chore it once was. I can grind the perfect amount of beans and dump them cleanly into the filter. No more static-clinging coffee dust. Love it!

Reliable product. Just what I've been looking for for years (and a lot of other grinders.)
I've had this product since Feb 2024 and am absolutely happy with its performance. There are so many options and grinds. The only problem I've ever had was about 1 year in, when suddenly I was having static electricity problems, but the solution I found here on this page did the job. (under the grinder, where the grounds come out, there are two small silver tips sticking out along the perimeter. Just dust them off, and the problem is solved.)My only complaint is that the settings you set up are not stored if there is a power failure. Once you find your "list", I recommend you write it down so you can quickly re-program.Highly recommend, but search around for the best pricing. I bought mine here about 15 months ago for a lot less than the current listed price as this review.
