High value replacement IR burner
This is a superior item for the price and one part of a total overhaul of a 20 year old Members Mark/Bakers and Chefs all stainless grill. Overhauled items included 3 new cast stainless steel burners, new ceramic flame tamers (beneath a full "Grill Grates" platform), new igniters... and this hereby reviewed IR searing/rotisserie replacement burner. Due to minor differences from the original no longer available unit, some mods were required at the back of the bowl and to secure proper mounting, as well as adapting the gas connection, of course. I now expect that this grill could go on for another 20 years. Stainless is like that. By my experience, it is a totally satisfactory replacement IR burner. Two thumbs up.

Members mark will fit for older model with some modifications
Used to replace a members mark grill infrared burner. I had two modifications to make it work.1, The gas line connection was not the same as the current grill. To make that happen, I had to use a step drill and bore out the hole to permit the older fitting to work. Note, my older fitting was held together by a stop nut with threads... so you will need to remove that from the old item.2. THe size was about 3/16 to long. To make that happen I bent over the end opposite of the gas stub and then it would fit.The burner works great.

2nd one I buy, and they are great.
Placed over bricks and let her burn. This is the 2nd one I buy and it took a while to get up to searing temp because it is a big one. But once at searing temp. It worked perfect, just like the small one.

Can easily modify to work on Viking BBQs
I have a Viking BBQ that this works on the single burner. All one needs is to drill the opening of the jet end larger, to fit over the brass jet

It's a very close fit for the Frontline grill
I bought this to replace my back mounted infrared rotisserie burner on my Frontline grill as Char-Broil no longer makes this part. This was a very close fit for my Frontline Char-broil grill but you will need to be handy with some tools and take some time on your planning. I did have to buy all new fixtures for my grills gas line as the ones supplied wouldn't do it for me. Overall I am very pleased with the quality, and after my customizing to fit my grill, it works fabulously and I would recommend this product. Just take some time to check your clearances and measurements before jumping right in.

Prison labor grade welds...
Very lucky to get a 3 star. Price was nothing spectacular. Build quality was poor. Imagine if they could care. Size was what mattered here. Burner is for a 17 liter Kazan. Will see if the valve is still working in a year. Yet to run it. Will revisit this if lowering rating is in order...

It might not be constructed of stainless steel but it is hotter than a conventional burner
I compared the traditional cast iron burner with this infrared burner on my natural gas grill. I tested the temperatures of each by measuring the temperature with an electronic infrared thermometer on the flame tamers. This infrared burner averaged about 120 degrees Fahrenheit higher at three different points than the cast iron burner. So if it is truly stainless steel then it is a means to a higher temperature natural gas, or propane grill. I question the stainless steel because my magnet stuck to it like a politician's lies. In contrast to the austenitic alloys, ferritic stainless steels such as 409 or 3Cr12/5Cr12 and martensitic stainless steels such as 420, are strongly attracted to a magnet even in the annealed state. The duplex and super duplex stainless steels will also be strongly attracted because they contain about 50% ferrite in their microstructure. That said, it could be stainless but I regard it with a jaundiced eye. I will report a follow up in another six months or so.
