I'm recovering from a stroke that was a year ago this month. It left me with a moderate weakness on my left leg and partial paralysis in my left arm and hand. I was told later, during my recovery by the staff at my local VA Hospital, that they weren't sure, initially, whether I'd ever even walk again.Flashing forward, I fairly quickly progressed from a wheelchair, to a Semi (sidewalk) to a large base quad cane. After researching my options in Amazon, I came across this from Able Life with very few reviews and took a chance, based on the highly accurate manufacturer's description. I leap-frogged going to a small based quad cab in the natural progression of things. The base itself in rock-solid, being made from cast aluminum. The cane is locked in a vise-like grip with two robust Allen wrench set screws. Because of its broad based, one point, texturized rubber sole, it's inherently more stable on uneven or slippery surfaces, with a much smaller footprint for maneuverability than ANY quad cane ANY size, period. I would further opine that anyone who uses a conventional cane and is concerned about its ultimate stability would be well advised to check this puppy out as a viable option. Well weighted, balanced, easy to set-up and use. But I hate picking up a fallen cane and I do not have a cane that will stand up alone with this as described. Three were returned for this reason. It is nicely weighted, looks strange and is pleasant to walk with but if I let go it falls.

Nice design, a little heavy and out of balance. Went back to normal tip.

Just received item. Installed on my cane. Seems like it's just what I need to prevent tripping on the foot of my cane. Need to use more to make definitive updated recommendation. In use daily. Other than weight, a very worthwhile addition to my cane.

i bought this item and found a order so bad i had to put it outside if anyone in your family has breathing problems DO NOT BUYmy wife has copd and could not breath
