I really liked this product. The cakes were really good. It took a long time to get the product and the price was pretty high for only 5 cakes, but it makes sense as it was shipped across the ocean. If I could afford it on a regular basis, I would order this product more, but sadly I cannot. I really do like this product which is why I gave it 5 Stars. If you want to try something new, can afford to spend a bit of money and are patient, I would highly recommend try this. I really enjoyed it!

Super fresh, delicate and tasty with floral accent

This package comes directly from Asia. Therefore, the packaging comes from really far and it goes through a lot. The package came all beat up. BUT it was so worth it still because these moon cakes are so delicious. They are made with flower petals and flower essences so it not only takes delicate and yummy but also smell sooooo good. I don't know if to eat it or wear it! lols. Other than the packaging being damage and some cookies combruled, the taste was amazing! Will definitely buy again, but this time, I might as for better packaging....

My children are studying plants, specifically the ones on our property. We have a Sweet Osmanthus bush beside our porch, so along with making tea from the flowers, I decided to splurge and purchase these "cookies" to have, as well! After watching a couple of videos on how they are made, I should have realized that steamed cookies would have a different texture than baked. The flavor was mildly sweet, not bad. But I think it was the softness of the pastry that was off-putting for my family. It was like eating slightly sweet dough. For an average American palate, it just wasn't our cup of tea.

I received my moon cakes fast. It was the fastest thing that I have ever received when ordering anything from China. The packaging was excellent..in a box, wrapping in bubble wrap and another plastic wrap around the nicely decorated Chinese box to seal in freshness. Each packet was air sealed and had an individual product number. This tells me this company takes sanitation and quality seriously.I have been wanting to try osmanthus cakes for years as I frequently watch Chinese dramas where they are sometimes featured.The texture was soft and crumbled well much like a butter cookie. There was a fragrance- not overpowering but it actually smelled like baby food to me..not really floral at all. Was that the osmanthus? I chose the green tea flavor, likely the safest bet for an American pallet. I researched mooncakes, history, production and disclaimers. I read that some consumers do not like sodium dehydroacetate preservative as lab tests stated that it caused significant heart defects in lab mice and kidney issues. Well, we are not rats and usually can consume more of a mineral or substance before it takes affect and there are plenty of not great ingredients in American junk food...so I took the risk because I desperately wanted to try osmanthus mooncake. I held a small crumb in front of my dog and he didn't want it.... but I went ahead and ate it after that anyway. I am not too disappointed because I like the adventure of trying new things and learning about other cultures foods. Like I said, the texture was perfect as far as I know, the flavor was not bad, the smell I am not a fan of.I feel I will need to seek out actual osmanthus tea or extract to really get an idea about this plants essence.Because of consumer warnings of sodium dehydroacetate .. and my dogs reaction I am hesitant to eat the rest. Because the company clearly has quality standards and fast shipping, I wish they would remove the questionable preservative. I will not order again because of this as well as the aroma not being ideal.. like baby food. I will likely look for a Chinese bakery in the states that does not use preservatives. However, it is worth it to try it out to explore a new food item especially as I feel this company has great food quality standards and customer care.

I was so disappointed by these cakes. They tasted like raw flour was pressed into a mold but never cooked. Raw flour was the predominant flavor and texture. I can’t help but think something went wrong with these? They were not expired and they looked lovely but the taste was so unfortunate.

The flavor is pretty good, but they cakes themselves are a mix of chewy but dry. You definitely need a drink when eating these
