They don't. Those positive reviews aren't real. They pop & there's no noticable smell. Believe the 1 ⭐ reviews. Here's mine: "They don't smell & half the time you end up popping the whole bag while trying to activate it. I submitted them for a return." You have to press a little sack inside, but you ruin a lot of bags entirely just trying to get the sack to activate & when it does, it swells, pops, no smell. It's just a sound.

There is no noticable smell. Don't waste your money. I returned them. The 5 star reviews are fake. Believe the 1 stars on this.

How long does it last

I bought these as a gift for my granddaughter. It made a loud pop but the smell wasn't overly strong or overpowering
