I love Battery Tender devices. The options for this model are very useful -- charge at 2 amps or 8 amps, for three different battery types, including float mode for long-duration battery maintenance. With the current cost of batteries, this is a great value. I trust this brand so I wasn't interested in the small savings offered by imitators.

Had it on my truck all winter because it needed repairs before it could be driven and the battery was only a year old. This kept the battery charged and maintained

I like the convertible charging rates. i do not need to hang it on a wall.

Automatic charging safety features and selectable modes for wet cell, AGM and LiFePo4 batteries is surprising for the price point. The cables are not particularly long but longer ones are easily available. The only real gripe that loses a star for me is the confusing indicator for charging status and poorly written instructions. A normal charging state is supposed to be indicated by an steady amber LED ring light but mine is red yet seems to be working correctly with an expected charging voltage. There is no indication of the charging state though.

Worth the money...

I've owned a couple of this brands battery tenders in the past. They've lasted years and always do the job. Bought this one as an upgrade and it's definitely easy to use. The charging capability is also impressive as it's rated double what my old one is. Just plug it in and have peace of mind that your motorcycle (or other toys) battery is being kept in good order.

With COVID-19, I have been working from home since March 2020 and I should have known better. If you leave your car sitting for long periods of time, the battery will die. And of course, mine did. $850 later, this might have been solved with a battery tender. You don't want to cheap out, either. This is a sort of trickle charger, but it shuts off. I know it's charging by the amber light and then it goes green (you can also hear it charging). When the light goes green, it switches to a "float mode" so that it doesn't overheat.Once I read through the instructions, it was great. I've never had to jump my battery, so thinking through what to do in what order is really the only thinking you have to do. The only wish I had with this is that it had a longer cord. It looks like most people have the same feedback. Most drivers do not part right against the wall of their garage, so having another few feet would have been great.

Like other reviewers, I'm a bit confused about the extra cable that cannot easily connect to the charger. It's a very compact, lightweight charger that worked well to recharge several batteries I had in garaged vehicles -- some are lead-acid, and others are AGM: this charger worked well. I like that this charger eliminates the "snap, crackle, and pop" when connecting the cables to the battery terminals -- NICE.
