Great tongs for a great price
While these tongs are a little heavier than my previous tongs they are well worth it. My old set of 14" tongs were 13.0 oz these came in at 14.6. So slightly heavier but still less than 1 lb.However, my previous set if you tried to pick up a good sized steak or rack of ribs they would just bend and drop whatever you wanted to flip or remove from the grill. This is the 1st set that actually delivers what it promises. No bending no dropped meat and they feel so much stronger than my last set that came with a fairly expensive BBQ set. If you have tongs that you are not absolutely in love with do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of these. If I have to find any fault with these I'm not really in love with the clip used to keep them closed. That is so minor I feel these still deserve 5 stars.

all metal no wood
This tong is long 17 inches and all metal. It is very sturdy and fits very well in our hand. I really like it

A little rust, but it cleans up
For the price alone, I recommend this set of grill tongs. My pair are sturdy (I know others have complained that they're somewhat flimsy...).Note, I bought these and a stainless steel spatula from Cave Tools at the same time. I hung both tools from my grill as soon as I got them, and that evening I grilled. I ended up using the tongs, but NOT the spatula (this is an important detail). Both utensils hung from my grill in the rain overnight, and the tongs did rust a bit on the business end where they had been used to handle meat and to move some wood charcoal around; however the spatula did NOT rust. I would recommend keeping these dry / indoors after their first use to avoid rust.If you do experience some rust, clean it right away with Comet or Barkeeper's Friend. The latter took almost all the rust off my tongs and they're good as new - I just keep them clean and dry between uses to avoid any more rust.

Great Tongs!!! Highly Recommended!!!
Beware: Amateur Status Griller here!!!PROS:NO HINGE: I wasn't sure if I was going to like this but it really ends up being very niceHEAVY DUTY: These tongs are STURDY - very little flex so the food stays put no problem.EASY TO CLEAN: Tongs are open just the right amount to easily clean and the holes are the right size where nothing gets stuck in there.CONS:The stupid leather hanging strap is just slightly too thin. It hasn't broken but its just not going to last long.If you hold the tongs too far away from the mouth you have to really squeeze hard - took me a couple uses to figure that part out - hold it closer to the mouth and it actually has just the right amount of tension.

Its easy to hold, ergonomically designed
This is a great product very easy to maneuver and ergonomical. You just need to apply a bit of pressure and it will easily close, yet is very sturdy for grabbing a huge piece of steak!!Longitude is perfect that you reach all the way back of you BBQ ( I have a Weber Spirit 210) and I love it.It comes with a nice leather strap that you can hand anywhere you want.Quality for this product is very nice!

These folks have actually grilled before
Grill tongs have bugged me for years. Almost all of them open to like a 70°angle like we are going to be grilling Triceratop ribs for dinner. I would assume that's an easier way to make them but it's uncomfortable. I finally found a good set that's well made by a major manufacturer but they're really way too long. Then I came across these. These are darn near perfect and I can tell just from picking them up they'll probably outlive me. The fit is perfect, you can pick up any piece of meat you'll ever grill, veggies are easy to turn also, and they're the right length to have control of the meat but no risk of getting burned. The two different "grabbers" took a little getting used to, but it was maybe 5 minutes at most and they're a really good inventive idea.I'm throwing away all my other ones.

Not bad. But, too flimsy for heavy work.
So, they are ok. But fail my simulated meat grasping test. See in the picture that the tong handles will touch when grasping an inch thick piece of 'meat'. This reduces the ability to grab and hold on to meat. They flex too much to lift heavy pieces of meat. I returned them.

Massively built tongs!!!
These are awesome, you can't go wrong. All the other tongs I compared these to weren't as long or use the thicker gauge steel. It really makes a difference, as I pick up large cuts of meat with no worry about dropping or the tongs just slipping off. Buy em!, you won't regret it. Thx, CaveTools! And just so ya know, I have absolutely no connection to these folks, their product just flat out works!
