A beautiful blade
My new Best Buy Karambit1 blade arrived today and I couldn't be happier. It is exceedingly hard for someone with smaller hands to find a good quality blade that fits and this one did not disappoint. The handle is beautiful deep, dark horn and sports a very nice composite pin. It indexes perfectly in my hand. The pattern damascus is equally beautiful and is visible all the way down the spine to the ring. Machine sharp straight out of the package. Only sharpened on the inside edge but one could easily grind an outer edge if one wanted a slasher.I would have preferred a horizontally worn sheath... but the provided sheath is stout, stiff and well made.

Sheath damaged handle
The knife arrived perfect, however after putting the knife in the sheath the buttons that go through and hold it together scratched up my handle and chipped a small piece, they had green corrosion on them. Fortunately refunded. Wish that hadn't happened because the knife is beautiful. Don't hesitate to buy because it's a work of art really. You can avoid my issue with a bit of sandpaper and sanding the inner rivets smooth. Just check your sheath and you'll be fine. You won't be disappointed with the knife as it is, mine arrived gorgeous to behold.

Gorgeous handmade knife with minor flaws
First, the good:1) Absolutely beautiful blade; the Damascus pattern, the handle with the inset decoration, the jimping on the ring and the back of the blade - all are exactly what you hope and want from a handmade knife. Love it. :)2) Inside curved edge is serviceable as-is, a good working edge which can easily be made into a very sharp edge with some light work using a ceramic sharpening tool. The back edge (spine) is not sharpened, which was expected - but has been made in such a way that it's clear one can sharpen it with some work using a steel sharpener for the rough edge, and a ceramic for a finer edge afterwards. (More on the spine under "flaws", though)3) Knife was well packed, coated with a light layer of grease, just as it should be when storage time is uncertain.4) I have large hands, and the knife fits really well - very comfortable in the forward grip with my pinky in or out of the ring, although I feel using the ring grip with my pinky in this hold to be exceptionally natural and solid.5) Sheath was acceptable - nothing special, nothing wrong, either. Now for the flaws...1) The biggest flaw IMO is the ring. I own several Karambits, and this one is the only one that won't accept my forefinger in the reverse grip - it's too small. Haven't had that problem with any of my other Karambits. The good news is that it's not a huge issue - I can, with a little effort, force it over my knuckle for the reverse grip hold, so the filing shouldn't require me to take off too much metal and possibly weaken the ring. But as-is, it's impossible for me to draw it in a reverse grip with the appropriate positioning of my forefinger. (I do NOT recommend anyone forcing the ring over their knuckle - I did it more as a sizing test. If you do manage to grip the knife and pull it from the sheath with that grip and bang your knuckle, good luck getting the knife off if your finger swells even slightly.)The ring itself is perfectly round... but slightly offset from the end of the ring, meaning the backside of the ring (away from the blade and tang) is slightly wider than one would expect. This is where I'll likely take the metal from, and I'll stay away from the part of the ring where the handle covers.2) The horn grip extends to the ring as-shown in the product picture. However, the edge on the grip where it meets the ring - particularly the corners of the grip - stick out, and are fairly sharp. It's bothersome when using the ring in either a pinky or forefinger grip. (I had the same problem with a different Karambit with a olivewood handle from a different maker.) Simple enough to fix with little fine sandpaper or a good fine file, but I have to admit, it would have been a much better purchase experience if it had been smoothed from the start. Just a little edge and corner removal before mounting the grip, maybe 20 seconds of work, if that - but now I have to carefully do it myself so I don't mar the ring.3) The reverse edge (spine) had burrs and a tiny nick. It required about 20 minutes of my time with a carbide sharpener so far, and it still needs work to smooth out. (Damascus IS hard steel, after all!) Handmade blade or not, I have to say that this particular flaw bugs me the most out of all of them. I didn't expect an edge on this side, but I also didn't expect unfinished work.Overall, as I said, love the knife. Just wish there were a little more attention paid to the details when the maker was forging the blade and shaping the handle.Gave the entire thing a 4 due to the beauty of the blade... would have been a 3 otherwise.

My main knife now
The design was nice, the work put into the knife shows, its very sharp. Well worth the value and the case for it is nice too. This is not a hit and miss knife, go get this one.

Knife fell apart the day it got it! VERY poor quality!
Out of the box looks great but after a little inspection. I quickly noticed several problems1. the sheath broke at the belt loop just from drawing the knife.2. Noticed cold shut on the tang and also a small crack at on a separate spot of the tang. 3. A brass spacer fell out of the handle scales. Upon inspection all four brass spacers are loose and fell out easily.4. The handle scales around the finger hole are sharp and cut my finger when wielding.5. The blade is not sharp at all. I tried to open a letter and it just ripped the paper.Everything listed above happened all within the first hour out of the box!Update: though I had a poor experience with the quality of this product customer service quickly refunded the money for the product without question. I appreciate a quick resolution to this issue. I am changing my rating of this product from 1 star to 3 based on the customer service response and quick refund.

Very beautiful knife. Sheath is nice as well
Very beautiful knife. Sheath is nice as well. I haven't actually tried to use it in earnest but seems to be very well made. Only quibble: packaging leaves a bit to be desired and it was covered in oil by the time it got to me. Took some effort to get the oil off the handle so it wouldn't slip out of my hand but nothing that is a deal breaker.

Beautiful, fast shipping, and great quality.
Has a beautiful Damascus design. Super fast shipping as I lI've in Hawaii and it came in 2 days. Packaging is a little difficult to open (unless you have a knife) it's wrapped in bubble wrap, tape, plastic, and paper in 2 separate layers so keep that in mind. And the knife is coated in a lubricant (separate from the sheathe) I definitely recommend getting this knife. It's not one of those cheap knives that aren't tempered correctly or not tempered at all. My favorite knife to use by far.

Bad metal. Blade edge starting to split.
The knife is beautiful but the blade is junk.I've had it for just over a month and after I sharpened it today the metal started to separate at the blade edge.Anyone who buys this knife risks getting a very poor quality blade that can be dangerous to use.
