I ordered this to replace the Fob for a 2016 Encore where the buttons had broken. This took me about 30 seconds to program and it's worked great ever since. To be fair, I also got a Fob cover for this one to help protect it from whatever usage messed up the old one. That was expensive but worth the investment.

I simply cracked open the old remote, paying attention to the key and spring location and winding. Cracked open the new remote, put the old key inside the one main bigger half , inserted the spring, put the smaller half against the bigger half just enough to catch the spring, I rotated the smaller half counterclockwise 1.5 times, and snapped them together. Since I had another old broken button key fob, I got in the equinox, shut door, turned key to on position not to start it, gave it one second , took the old key out and inserted the new one and turned it to on as well for a second then took key out of ignition and pressed each button confirming it took. Done fast and simple. Thank you for making it easy!!
