First of all, I really like the look of this USB plug. It is nice having the blue light background, especially to see the plug at night. The rubber cover helps to keep dirt and moisture out of the plug.The first one I ordered worked fine initially, then started working intermittently and finally stopped working. As I had cut the whole to match in my dash, I decided to order the exact same one to replace it. When I installed the second one, it would not light up or work. I then double checked with a meter to make sure the power was coming to the plug and it was. I then took the first one apart to see if I could detect why it did not work and found that one of the wires on the circuit board was actually not soldered to the board and would work if it touched the board. Since I did not have the proper equipment to solder small electronics, I could not repair it. I then went back to testing the new one and found that the internal portion had been installed upside down and when I plugged the positive wire to the negative terminal on the plug marked (-) and plugged the ground wire to the (+) terminal on the plug, it worked fine. I hope this one lasts, but be aware that there could be potential issues with one that you order.

Installed in a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I placed in a little square opening that is besides the engine brake and the traction control switch. It fits perfectly there.Made sure I connected it to a "12V switched" power source, in order not to drain the batterie(s).The blue colored lighting fits perfectly with the rest of the dashboard lighting.

Used on a Honda pioneer 1000-5 UTV. Holders don’t hold switch very tight in hole. Not sure if it’s very weatherproof as the cover doesn’t seem to seal tightly in ports.

Used on a SXS and the blue backlight drained my battery.. Kept in place since I have it and because its very easy to access, I'll plug it just when the engine runs and I if I need it.
