Best shoulder rest, to date!
I have been playing violin for 30 years. I play professionally. No shoulder rest has ever fit me the way this shoulder rest does. There are two parts to the shoulder rest & they can be BENT to conform to the shape of your shoulder. They are really stiff pieces of metal, so they cannot be bent so easily that they will lose form. Instead, they are very stiff metal pieces. They will keep their form while you play. Of course, you can also adjust the height of the shoulder rest. You can also adjust the ANGLE at which the two main metal pieces are aligned. I have been searching for a good shoulder rest for a long time. I saw that Hillary Hahn used a shoulder rest that flared out to sit on her shoulder - cupped her shoulder blade. I did some research & found out that she uses this one. Anyway, it is GREAT to have a shoulder rest that not only sits at the right spot, but also lends itself to being bent in such a way that it will curve to fit your shoulder EXACTLY. I have been using KUN for many years. I had to tie rubberbands around the feet so that it would not pop/slide off during performances. I learned how important it is to have an issue-free shoulder rest. The KUN pop/slid off of my violin during a solo. So I am thrilled that I have a superior replacement.

Excellent Quality; Fair Price
We highly recommend the Bonmusica shoulder rest for violin! Our top 5 reasons we love this product: made from high-quality materials, adjustable for a customized fit, fairly priced for the quality of product, sturdy enough for everyday use and long rehearsals, and it’s very comfortable. We made the mistake of purchasing a cheap copycat product - thinking we could save a few dollars but won’t make that mistake again! Our #1 choice is Bonmusica!*Intermediate violinist with 10+ years experience.

Great for us tall folks
I'm 6'2" tall, with most of that height in my neck, apparently. My big issue with all the other shoulder rests is that they caused my neck and head to scrunch down into an unnatural posture. I bought this shoulder rest hoping that it would be taller than my current Kun shoulder rest.Fortunately, it is taller and gets the job done nicely without my having to bend my head down. Another benefit to this shoulder rest is that it doesn't slip off my violin like my Kun does. Seems like the should rest would only pop off during really passionate movement where I would be abruptly shocked when the shoulder rest would slip off. This Bonmuisca rest hasn't slipped off a single time in the 2 months I've had it. Very impressive in this regard. The shoulder rest has much more flexibility than the three other shoulder rests I've tried. However, the part that can be bent over the shoulder to grip it is kind of thin and in time that portion will lose the curve as you naturally move the violin around while playing. This isn't a deal buster, it doesn't change much, but if I were to point to a design flaw, it would be this, which hasn't really impacted the goals of the shoulder rest. It still works fine. The only other gripe I have is, again, not a big deal, but the foam padding on this shoulder rest isn't as thick or comfortable as my Kun, but that doesn't matter because the shoulder rest is otherwise comfortable with this shoulder rest.

Great shoulder rest...especially for correcting lazy playing.
I have degenerative disk disease in my back and at times I practice so long that my back begins to ache. I then tend to lower my left hand and bring the violin around to the front a little more than necessary. This product will not allow you to do so without its edge cutting into your shoulder. I now have no choice but to keep correct posture while playing. So, take heed, lazy players, this shoulder rest will improve your playing by correcting you poor posture.Another plus to this product is the craftsmanship. It is well made and adjusts in so many ways it may take a while to find the right position for you. However, once you do, you won't go back to a Kun style shoulder rest again. Gives a very good sense of security supporting the violin, which is why I bought the Bon Musica Shoulder Rest. Excelent for beginners. Finally, you do need to be careful to adjust the feet for a proper fit. It took a while to adjust the feet so it would stay attached to my violin. It did fall off a time or two until I found the proper adjustment for the feet.Enjoy.

Finally a shoulder rest that works
Keeps violin straight, no more tense arms or fighting to keep instrument from slipping. I am tall, have a long neck and (don't laugh) had chin fat removed for plastic surgery. Well, with that cushioning gone, the KUN shoulder rest didn't work anymore LOL. Takes a bit of adjusting just the piece is constructed to adapt to the individual's body. thanks so much

Adjustable, great support, better than Kun
I've used a Kun rest for many years and though it was the gold standard. After getting neck pain from holding the violin too tightly because it was slipping, I researched alternatives and saw the BonMusica. Happy I gave it a try because it has much better support than the Kun. It can adjust taller for people with longer necks. The curve over the shoulder helps hold the violin in place better. The only downside is it's a little larger than the Kun so may be a tight fit in some violin cases.

Comfortable and Adjustable
This is one of my favorite shoulder rests. I purchased this shoulder rest because it was recommended by one of my music teachers and honestly, it’s worth the prices, I first bought it for Violin, and it feel comfortable, the size was the same size and the material was perfect as well. Later on, I decided to buy another shoulder rest for my Viola. Worth every cent.
