Does the large size work for legal size paper?

Works for standard size 8-1/2 x 11. They do make this same clipboard in a legal size. I think I saw that size on amazon also.

Is this clipboard sturdy? Does it have a lot of space?

Yes it is sturdy. I keep a good bit of stuff in mine, legal pad and a bunch of forms.

It stays closed well enough even no clip. It closes like a book. I haven't had any problems though.

No markings on clipboard anywhere , but they did say recycled material .
