Hate Iron Stains? This is what you want!
I am a home remodeling contractor and have installed a half dozen of these. For people with well water they are a must! Water softeners remove some iron almost by mistake. These really work. I have had one on my house for years and it works great. They do require backwashing frequently and must be properly plumbed for flow rate but they're worth the effort.

Backwash
Nothing is mentioned about the amount of water pressure needed to backwash and that it has to be back washed daily at a rate of at least 5 gallons per minute for 20 minutes, which is 100 gallons of water. Most pumps and Wells do not provide this type of luxury to be able to backwash daily with that high rate of backward flow control. For more information, see specialty water.net
