If you can find one of these for a good price I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
I love new tech but I use my phone for computer stuff more than an actual computer. Take what I say with a grain of salt. This thing is actually pretty solid. The screen is nice with minimal glare. The keyboard is easy to type with. Plus I got it to stay lit by enabling in bios which is easy to boot into. The track pad has a nice feel and not too sensitive. Even the speakers have decent sound but old people might have trouble really hearing them. I was told camera looks fine and I would agree.Compared to my 10 year old aspire which I loved this sucker is super snappy. I'm only a couple months in though. I know the memory and ram are about as weak as you can get but both are upgradable probably for fairly cheap on Amazon. Unless a new GTA comes out I wont be playing games any time soon but obviously probably not the best for that anyway. There's plenty of newer type connections. It's all wrapped up in a sexy metal case that's fairly light an rugged. I forgot to test how long battery lasts but haven't experienced the loud fan noise like some have said. So my only two gripes are not a whole lot of memory and ram and no sd card reader but I think they make one that converts from USB. I will also probably pick up a cheap USB optical drive. I'm a sucker for Amazon flash sales but with this one so far I have no regrets.

Thsi is a GREAT compact unit at a GREAT price!
I am enjoying my new Acer. It's lighter and smaller than my old "worhorse" laptop which expired and went to cyber heaven recently. I looked and looked for a replacement and the one BIG caveat this time was that I had a VERY limited budget. It took a while, but I finally found this Acer...and I run a "big" Acer "all-in-one" on my desk at work...so I was confident of quality and performance. But I thought the price was too good to be true..."and therefore..." But when I went in to BB to inquire, although they did not stock it, the sales associate assured me that he thought this Acer would be a VERY good deal indeed...loaded with just the features I needed and nothing I didn't. I'm not a "gamer," so I did not need anything too "packed" or high end performance-wise. I would, therefore, highly recommend this unit to someone who wants excellent display, light weight, very credible performance and speed, and enough power to multi-task, etc. The price goes without saying...GREAT and very affordable for those on a modest budget.

I love it so far
The laptop runs great though I have only had it for a few days the battery life is longer than I expected more than 7 hours. I am surprised how lightweight it is and fast. The screen quality is great. The phone camera doesn't do it justiceDon't really loved the colour silver much as it reminds me of my fridge always needs to be cleaned of all the markings so.Also down fall no card reader small amount of space. Other wise I love it

Great PC!
Ordered this laptop on Prime Day for my Uncle who had a super old laptop that wasn't performing well. The laptop he had was at least 8 years old, was super heavy (Toshiba Satellite), super slow to load and just wasn't performing as it should. My Uncle doesn't do a lot of processing on the laptop but uses it mostly for online browsing, bill pay etc. He's not exactly computer savvy when it comes to a lot of things so I wanted to keep it as basic as possible. This laptop came with S mode which I ended up leaving enabled. I had thought about disabling it, but due to how the previous laptop ended up, I decided to leave it enabled to hopefully keep it from getting messed up by questionable downloads and installs of programs that could wreak havoc. S mode will only let you install programs that have been verified through the Microsoft Store. So if you can't get it from the Microsoft Store, unless you turn off S mode, you won't be able to download/use the program. This laptop is incredibly light, is super easy to use for anyone familiar with Windows 10. Has ample storage space for the casual user and does what it needs to. My Uncle was so grateful to have a laptop that didn't weigh 10#, ran hot and ran so slow that it was frustrating to get anything done.Hoping this laptop will last a good while so that he can get a lot of good use out of it.

SSD hard drives make the old-style drives look like a Model T next to a Corvette
This is a great laptop. It was an emergency purchase to replace a Lenovo ThinkPad that quit without warning. While I originally thought the backlit keyboard was a gimmick, I've come to appreciate it when I need to work in dim lighting. The laptop is a nice weight, combining full functionality with a compact profile. Hard to believe it's a 15inch screen while still being thin and compact. The ports are thoughtfully configured, with a USB port on the right side as well as the left. While I miss having an optical drive, having 2 USB ports on the left side means I can use an external drive without adding weight to the laptop. It is blazing fast compared to my previous laptops, and offers good all-around performance whether I am surfing the web or working in a spreadsheet.

The Second Time Around with Acer....and it's Aspiring...11 years Later!
I had two laptops over the past 11 years; one's an Acer ( March 2010-March 2015 ) the other a HP ( March 25,2015- May 31st, 2021 ). Anyway, Acer laptops have top tier specs and powerful processors at reasonable prices, and this Aspire 5 laptop does not disappoint. While there is no optic drive, getting an external drive shouldn't be a problem. The Full HD screen is remarkable, the 10th Generation Intel Core i3 processor is quick, and it's light, again no CD/DVD drive, but easy on the hands. I'm glad I decided to go back to Acer for my Third laptop, and this time, it's going to Aspire and Inspire me for the next four or so years ( I'm 51, so, it's never too late to tackle a laptop ). Acer, I'm back, and you got a winner with the Aspire 5!

Very good, easy to use laptop my wife loves it.
Although I was able to find it a few $'s less; it represents a good value for someone who does not wanta Chromebook and wants to stay at the low end in pricing. A good screen and fast processor comparedto our old one. Quite happy with the purchase. I would recommend it for all general purpose users.
