I ordered this item and it works well, but what are the holes for in the brass tube connecting the gas to burner? I would think you lose gas this way?

A certain amount of air needs to mix with the gas to be able to create a flame. These holes provide the air.

What are the collapsed dimensions of this stove alone without the packaging? What is the dimensions of the burner?

The stove comes in a blue woven synthetic zippered bag. Including the bag the total weight is 8.1 oz with the bag the dimensions are 4.125 in x 4.5 in x 1.5 in. Without (and inside) the bag the stove disassembles into 2 pieces. The burner section is 4.9 oz 4.625 x 4.625 at it's widest points (measuring along the pot supports - closed) and 3.405 square measuring it's smallest points (which is also the diameter of the burner itself. Measuring from pot support to pot support (closed) it measures 3.5 x 3.5 and would fit in a box that has interior dimensions of 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 . The second piece which screws into the burner and the fuel canister is 2.1 oz 1.5 x 2.5. The width of the pot supports fully extended is 6.875

Work with campingaz cv470 ?

Unfortunately no, I’ve also been looking Campingaz comparable canisters. This looks like it’s a 7/16" UNEF threaded valve with a lindal ‘valve’ (It accepts Primus, MRS fuel etc.)

Where do you get propane cylinders for this stove.

Call around to your sporting good stores. But don't ask for "propane" ask for butane
