It's a bad product
After a relatively straightforward installation, I started noticing serious errors. First, the board did not work and it was not read by the Raspberry Pi. I wasted many hours through blogs full of complaints of users not able to use it, and I now understand why:Otherwise as shown in its advertisement on Amazon and on the Arducam website, this board is not good for videos. In fact, it makes such that cameras take quick pictures and not videos, and kind of stitch them together, to give this feel that a continuous stream is being initiated. The cameras cannot run simultaneously. Again, not fully explained when reading the description on Amazon and on the Arducam website, and is only readable on the paper documentation that comes with the product, once purchased. When the adapter is reported as faulty by the users, the usual response of the manufacturer's technical team is to replace the cable, as faulty. This is incorrect and misstated, as what happens in fact, is that the board absorbs too much power and GPU memory from the board and it causes it to "freeze". I could test this as, whereas the script "sudo ./init_camera.sh" was returning a "camera not found error", when instead I reduced the number of cameras from three to 2, updating the boot file too, then, no matter the ports chosen. The adapter would be indeed recognised, and the images produced. The conclusion is that this board has been badly engineered, incorrectly explained and supported, and creatively advertised and that it is ultimately, a very bad product.

This thing sucks.
I have been struggling with this for days. I used 2 2.1 cameras, one for day and one for night. Each time I switch it freezes and takes minutes to actually switch and work without freezing.I tried their support forum and its basically dead. I got one response in days. This is expensive, save your money and buy another pi, you will be happier and have less headaches. I don't know if my part is defective or not but with the lack of support its as good as garbage.

Excellent product with excellent support
At first I had some trouble with this product and support was very helpful going through everything step by step. It turned out I had a cable backwards and that the product works perfectly!

Warning Software/hareware
Bought this item in February, bought different sets of camera. Started working on setting it up, going through programming to set up. After a week of working with programming could not get it work, not that it didn't work correctly just would not show a picture from any of the different camera set sets used. Contacted arducam for assist, was informed on on going issue and my ticket wod be sent to tech. So I am only righting this so that you will be informed before purchasing.Might purchase a new board in hopes that the different board may have a chance.
