Seltzer's Lebanon Bologna 4.5 Lb

You don't realize just how big 4.5 lbs. is until you see it. It's huge. It came perfectly packed in a sturdy cardboard box with excellent insulation inserts and several dry ice packs. It's cured salami (Lebanon Bologna), & well sealed, so I'm not even sure it needed the dry ice. And, man, this is good stuff! I remember as a kid at school, getting Lebanon Bologna sandwiches in my brown paper lunch bag while all the other kids were eating, and loving apparently, regular bologna. I was so jealous - even embarrassed that I had something different! (lol - I was a kid, I didn't know any better). But as an adult, buying my own groceries, I found out. Regular bologna? Fine. (I guess). But the Lebanon Bologna? OMG! Vive la différence! The problem, of course, is it can be hard to find. (I think Stater Bros. out here in So. Cal. carried it for a while- might still, idk). But this huge half salami-like "cylinder" (don't know what they're called)? I've never seen anything like it before.This is pure snack time (for me, anyway). Cut into wedges, served with cut cheese - something with it's own distinctive flavor (extra sharp cheddar and smoked gouda are excellent choices) or it may be overwhelmed by the bologna. Special crackers to bring it all together (like the new varieties of bagged Ritz or, my favorite, the "Big" style Cheez-its: I'm a simple man, obviously, but I know what I like.)Probably not the best for sandwiches, though I'm sure it can be done. The pre-sliced variety still rules the sandwich kingdom. These are the "original flavor" Lebanon Bologna that I order & eat, by the way, not the "sweet". That's for a different set of taste buds, though with cream cheese on a bagel (maybe), I guess I can see it. Original or even Sweet, it's hard to go wrong with Seltzer's Lebanon Bologna. After 60+ years of eating Seltzer's Original Lebanon Baloney, we knew we loved the salty meaty taste. I don't eat regular baloney, but I love this stuff rolled up with cream cheese. Last year, we moved to NM where it was simply unobtainable. So, when we saw the Cheese Delicatessen was shipping it around the country, we ordered it within 15 seconds of seeing their offering. Despite the fact that there the heat is setting records from PA to NM, the Lebanon Baloney arrived cool and delicious within a few days. The roll was surrounded by insulated packing and had three ice pads next to it. Great job!

My parents were born and raised in Lebanon, PA. As a result, I grew up eating Lebanon balogna. My parents are gone now and I live nowhere near PA so being able to buy this wonderful meat on Amazon is a blessing.I'd describe the meat, but it's a one of a kind taste. Buy it, it's amazing.

This is my absolutely favorite lunchmeet but you can't find it anywhere in CA. Thank you Amazon and Seltzers. Mmmmm mmmmm good!

They play games in the pricing to hide the huge shipping costs. I tried to even order multiple items but they are inflexible on costs. It’s a good product I have repurchased it but the shipping and price volatility is annoying

I moved to Minnesota from Pennsylvania and can't get leba Bologna here so I ordered it. It arrived as advertised. Shipping was quick and the product was nice and cold. I will definitely keep ordering from this company.

I grew up next to the town that makes this product. As a kid, it was the only bologna I ever knew.Now living on the west coast my taste buds miss the smoky goodness of Seltzers. When family comes to visit...I usually beg them to bring me a chub.Finally finding it online...I am again in Heaven!Yes...it's a bit spendy, but it requires alot of love in making it and proper packaging!Since it has arrived to my home, I have given many samples to quite a few friends who never tasted it. Needless to say....every one of those folks have ordered a chub for themselves! Wish my promotional tidbits could get me a freebie???If you enjoy true wood fired smoked meats....your gonna LOVE Seltzers and you will come back for more.And for a different version of flavor....slice some up and quick fry it (don't use ANY oil).Dang...made myself hungry here and will now pull out portions of frozen slabs for lunch tomorrow.ENJOY!

delivery person left this PERISHABLE item out at the gate by the street. Never rang doorbell, nothing. Not a good way to handle perishable items!!
