GR8FLEX High Performance Gym - Patriotic XL Model with Total Over 100 Workout Exercises

The gym machine was old stock showing rust and soiled areas. Upright was damaged , no instruction manual on how to install the unit and its many other items. Be careful if you purchase this item .

Update (8/1/21): Still going strong. Adding pics of the included manual.Summary: Due to COVID closure, we cancelled the gym membership, and bought an exercise bicycle last summer. We considered other options like free weights and a bench.Analysis of Alternatives: 1) The wife and I discussed a couple of exercise routines options: a) gym membership, b) free weights and bench, and c) this GR8FLEX system. With COVID restrictions, the gym because less cost effective with the reduced services offered. The free weight and bench option were just as expensive, and then you have the added need to store them. We had previously bought the exercise bike below last summer. We decided on this GR8FLEX system because it allows for a variety of levels of training (with the addition of rubber bands, as well as increasing the incline on the platform). I've had a Total Gym XLS in the past and really liked it. I ended up selling it a while back and was looking for a replacement. I found the GR8FLEX and decided to take a chance. I purchased this a few months ago and waited to write a review until I had some practical experience using it. I am impressed. I found the GR8FLEX has very good value for the cost. It can do everything a Total Gym can do with some minor differences.PROS:Stable platform - No issue at the highest setting while sitting upright and performing exercisesRange of motion - Very good range of motion. I am 6'3" with long arms and there are times when I need to adjust on the slide to get all the way down or up on my pulls. However, I had that same problem on my Total Gym so this challenge is my own.Accessories - I really like the accessories that come with the GR8FLEX. They all have benefits, but the curl bar is my favorite. I did buy a second set of carabineers to make it easier to add and remove that item.CONS:Resistance Bands - The resistance bands are just OK. If you have all four on at once it's hard to keep the slide from pulling out from under you. It's also a bit of a pain to clip on and off at the bottom of the unit. I would prefer to have a weight bar to add weight rather than resistance bands.Slide - The wheels for the slide are acceptable, but if they were upgraded they would be better. Of course, that comes with a price.SUMMARY:If you buy this, you will have a very good piece of exercise equipment. The key is to actually use it. I saw improvements in my flexibility and strength almost immediately. It has great attachments, stability and movement. The only reason I gave the GR8FLEX four stars was because of the resistance bands. If it had a weight bar available this would be a five 5 star product.

I have had two other "Total Gym" type machines before, and this is the best one so far. It is very sturdy. The bench slides smoothly. I am 5'11", and the machine is big enough to give ma a great range of motion. The foot board is plenty big and allows me to do deep one-legged squats.I installed the pull up handles at the bottom for shoulder presses, and the dip bars at the top to use as pull up bars. This worked well.This is the first machine I've had with resistance bands, and they are a great addition. I will probably buy the heavier bands later.Overall, great machine and the lifetime warranty is a big plus.

The equipment overall is very sturdy but i have a couple of concerns: 1) the leg press is cheaper plastic and it wobbles a lot as do the other attachments. The ab attachment is some cumbersome and the attachment point for the dip bars is kind of high up for a shorter person. 2) it would be nice if you could go below parallel on the squat to work the hamstrings. This could also be easily adapted to do a ram thrust but not quite there. If the manufacturer can tighten up the attachment points for accessories this will be an outstanding value. 3) i was missing a couple of pins for the attachments. 4) contact info for the manufacturer is not readily available. 5) the seat was wrapped TOO good in plastic and i have been unable to remove all of it as it foes under the seat itself. Overall a great deal product just needs tweaking. 5) is NOT as easy to set up as videos suggest. Two people will make it easier. Also the box weighs about 200 lbs. UPS lost the one i ordered so i had to reorder it.
