Perfect fit, but you will need to tap the vacuum threads to NPT (super easy).
The media could not be loaded. This is a great carb for the price! My ‘66 Chevy truck is running better than ever now. I do have one detail you will want to know. The vacuum ports (yes there are two) are not NPT threads, but rather BSPT. These threads are similar, but the thread angle is 55 degrees instead of 60 degrees, which is usual for NPT. The fix was easy. I got a NPT tap and ran it through the threads one time with a little WD-40. I have never tapped anything before, and I didn’t even have a tap wrench. I just got the tap bit started and screwed it in carefully with a regular wrench. It worked like a charm. Everything hooked right up and there are no vacuum leaks.

Just bolt it on and it works perfect!
Easy to install and it took absolutely no tweaking; it works beautifully on my 1966 Chevrolet pickup truck. It needed no adjustments at all… just bolted it on and it drives better now that it ever did, since I’ve had it! My only drawback was, I had to get a manifold gasket for it which was I had to buy gasket material and make one; it was no big deal but would have been nice if it had been included. Overall, a great buy!

Honest review here.....
Let's be real here, if you're here and considering buying one of these replacement carbs, it's probably because you're in the same spot we are: our OE carb is s just too far gone to fix anymore and you can't find one any better anywhere else.... (usually because the carb top is badly warped and leaking fuel even with a new gasket).So....some things you need to know/expect when you buy this carb:1. There are 2 vacuum ports on this carb. One is a ported vacuum port for the vacuum advance and the other is for manifold vacuum. On this replace carburetor they are tapped 1/8" BSSPT, not NPT. The pitch between these two standards is the same, but BSSPT is NOT tapered. Bottom line here is you will need an 1/8" NPT tap to retap these holes to re-use/use standard 1/8" NPT fittings on this replacement carb.2. The fuel inlet fitting leaks. This is due to 2 things: 1. The thread milling of the inlet internal threads is rough. One thing that helps here is to disassemble and lightly brush those threads with a cylinder shaped wire brush and then clean with solvent. 2. The gasket supplied here is metal. The OEM one is fiber/gasket paper. It can be hard to find the OEM style, but they will fit/work/help if you can. Ultimately I ended up putting a light amount of gasoline contact rated, (gray), RTV on the threads to finally seal it up.3. When we started the truck we had fuel running over/out of the carburetor/fuel bowl and the truck ran awful. This ended up being caused by improper float level, (~1/8-3/16" too high). I accept the likelihood this happened while being jostled in shipping. I mention this because it's MUCH easier to take the carburetor apart and check/verify/correct the float level and float drop, before it sees gasoline and you have a mess or possibly even a fire from a too high float level.4. Once all of the above were addressed, the engine idle using this replacement carburetor is somewhat rougher than it was with the OE carb. Not bad...just not as smooth. I haven't had time to investigate this further yet, but I suspect is a result of the following: 1. Improper drilling/porting/sizing of the idle circuit air bleed and or the fact that this replacement carb has an aluminum base versus the OE which is cast iron. (Warm cast iron vaporizes fuel better than aluminum). When time permits it would be interesting to swap out the OE base,(which is ok on my old carb), onto the replacement carb to see if it fits and doing so improves the idle.5. This replacement carb is manufactured in China. That workmanship/quality, (or better put the LACK OF traditional American craftsmanship) is apparent at several areas on this unit. To that end, while this replacement carb is better than any remaining/surviving OE carb that we can find, (so far), we're still going to hang onto our old carb, just in case....6. Packaged nicely. Well boxed/packaged and cushioned exceptionally well!7. Prompt shipping/delivery. Ordered on Monday, delivered the next day. (Prime membership).Bottom line...if you're faced with not being able to rebuild your OE carb, can't find another OE carb and can deal with the above issues, this unit may be an acceptable solution for your situation.

Have a fire extinguisher on hand
Good: covers the hole on the intake manifold and would probably keep birds out of motor (if the choke valve is closed.Bad: leaks from every gasket, port, and mechanism. As the fuel pump pushed fuel to the carburetor, the sight of fuel pouring from the unit made me look around nervously for open flame sources. A vision of self-immolation flashed through my head, and I idly wondered if my life insurance payments were up to date.

low quility
We are professional automotive restoration shop in business for over 25 years. We have been restoring a customers 1950 Chevy truck for the last few months. Purchased this carb based on reviews. By the time we installed this carb it was outside the return window so we now have a Paper weight. Opened up and inspected found aluminum shavings inside the bowl. The carb is not adjustable. bad casting, junk. I would stay with a local rebuilder. Not worth any money or aggravation.
